"Visions of the spiritual world": A Brief Description of the Spiritual Realm, Its Different States of Existence, and the Destiny of Good and Evil Men as Seen in Visions. Sundar Singh was known in his lifetime as India's most famous convert to Christianity. His twenty-three years pilgrimage as a sadhu - a wandering, penniless pilgrim - had led him across more than twenty countries on four continents. He had profoundly influenced tens of thousands of people. He never accepted the religion as such but he instead emphasized the life-changing starkness of Christ's original teachings.

Once on a dark night I went alone into the forest to pray, and seating myself upon a rock I laid before God my deep necessities, and besought his help. After a short time, seeing a poor man coming towards me, I thought he had come to ask me for some relief because he was hungry and cold. I said to him, "I am a poor man, and except this blanket I have nothing at all. You had better go to the village nearby and ask for help there." And lo! Even whilst I was saying this, he flashed forth like lightning, and, showering drops of blessing, immediately disappeared.

Sadhu Sundar Singh, also known as “The Apostle of the Bleeding Feet”, was a famous Christian monk and itinerant preacher. He travelled barefoot around India, Nepal and Tibet, preaching the Gospel in villages and towns as he went along. After he encountered Christ in a vision as a teenager, he decided to serve as a monk owning nothing more than a set of clothes, a thin blanket, and a New Testament. He endured much suffering and was often persecuted for sharing the Gospel. 

Living in close contact with Hinduism, Buddhism, Muhammadanism, and Christianity, I have studied their sacred books and the writings of their leading thinkers; while, from personal conversation with many of their learned followers, I have been able to extract much information regarding their faiths. The results of my thinking on these four great religions I have set down in this book.
