So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours.

It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

A very nice fantasy slice of life story with a bit of action. The characters aren`t the typical heros of fantasy stories and often feel a lot more realistic. I really love the story and will continue to read the books (with kindle or just online) since I can't wait for the next audiobook.

A Real Fantasy Gem !

The cover calls this book a "slice-of-life fantasy litrpg novel" and that's pretty much on point. It mostly follows the life of two girls who were transported into this fantasy world and their everyday life as (at least in theory) non-combatants. The worldbuilding is pretty good, I really felt like I got to know the lands people and history, it felt layered and not just like a flimsy background to the story. Problem is the protagonists, especially Erin. She is a wimp, whiny bordering on depression, on occasion too dumb to live and more lucky than she has any right to be. There is character-development but it's ever . so . slow . Don't hold your breath. I got through the book by skipping her dark episodes after a while, nothing lost there.
I still would recommend this book because of the many good parts it has as well. Keeping my hopes up that the next book will be better.

IPod, welcher irgendwann zum Smartphone wurde, Magie!
Isekai als Hörbuch, Frau Parsneau macht eine gute Arbeit, die anfängliche Durststrecke und Emo-Filler zu überbrücken. Leider hört der erste Teil dann für diejenigen, die nicht auf die Zeit schauen, überraschend auf und müssen entsetzt feststellen, dass der zweite Teil noch nicht vertont ist!

Story:
The whole concept is really appealing and interesting. Sometimes the main character is really annoying and super naive, but if you can see past that you can worm up to them. They are very believable as well just as the whole world. Everything makes sense (follows certain fantasy rules) and there are no random unexplainable events (unless they are deliberately made to be)
Performance:
There is nothing much to say about it other then near perfect. Very unique voices for different characters, good and believable emotions and very well paste.

Nicht von der einfachen Sprache abschrecken lassen. Hier haben wir interessante, glaubhafte Charaktere mit stetiger Entwicklung und eine spannende Welt. Die Sprecherin schafft es es, allen Personen Leben einzuhauchen und auch nach 40h möchte ich einfach nur weiter hören. Der LitRPG Hintergrund sorgt dafür, dass man es nicht zu ernst nimmt, aber vom gore Faktor nicht für Kinder geeignet. Absolute Empfehlung für Leute, die sich für pen and paper interessieren und einfallsreiche, unterhaltsame Geschichten mögen, bei denen der Handlungsstrang nicht vorhersagbar und es trotzdem schlüssig ist.
