Einfach nur eine Fantasy Perle

Ich habe das Buch online gelesen und muss einfach sagen, dass das Hörbuch nochmal eine Schippe drauf legt.
Eine tolle Geschichte (auch wenn sie ein wenig braucht um richtig in fahrt zu kommen),
sehr gut geschriebene Charaktere und einfach eine schöne Welt.
Die Sprecherin ist ebenfalls einfach nur super, da sie ALLEN Charakteren eine eigene Stimme geben kann und das will was heißen, da ich nach 20 Charakteren aufgehört habe zu Zählen. Außerdem bringt sie die Emotionen der Charaktere einfach nur super rüber.

Jetzt die Wichtigste Frage: Soll ich mir es kaufen?
Ja. Es ist einfach ein sehr schön geschriebenes und gesprochenes Buch und ich kann nicht auf den Zweiten Teil des Hörbuchs warten.

like an American Richard Schwartz

I enjoyed the notion and the backstory.

The narrator did a really good job. I liked her half elf especially. But some of the extras had indistinguishable voices, which made it harder especially since all the characters had nice own voices including different tempi. Almost as good as Rufus Beck. The voice acting was very good also with two bumps of emotional measurement.

The story is great and much like one I read just recently Fluchbrecher by Richard Schwartz

The wandering inn is serious high fantasy.
Come into another world and make a living figure out how to go back? Do I want to go back? Do I want to stay? What can I do? What should I do? What MUSTN'T I do.

I like the magic system that is only brushingly introduced, but I am looking forward to hearing the next of this.

I do think right now, I will wait for the next audio book or at least check out when it will be out. Before I start reading because I do want to know how it goes on.

brilliant beyond description

I realize now that I hadn't known what a good audiobook was before finding this series.
Andrea Parsneau is a wizard, it's a miracle how every person in this story has their own voice, their own temperament, even their own dialects!

combined with colorful characters and a truly original storyline (without needing to kill off people to keep things exciting) this is a story that's vibrant, exciting and saying that I am excited for what's to come is so far beyond an understatement that I am almost ashamed to word it this way.

the wandering inn series sets new limits within the world of audiobooks. it's so far beyond a five star rating I don't really know what to do about it, somebody should invent a new category.

absolute recommend, you'll see that four paragraphs of praise are barely enough.

Der Anfang ist schlimm, aber es geht steil bergauf

Aufgrund einer Empfehlung gehört, am Anfang nervt die Hauptperson Erin so schlimm, ich hätte das Hörbuch aufgegeben, wäre es nicht die Empfehlung dieser Bekannten gewesen. Die Sprecherin ist grossartig, alle Personen werden einzigartig gesprochen, man hört zB nur noch eine einen männlichen Minotaurus und keine weibliche Sprecherin. Modernes Fantasyspektakel, welches deutlich an Rollenspiele anlehnt. Spannende und tragische Entwicklungen der Hauptpersonen, ein Ende, welches Lust macht auf weiteres,zumal andere offenbar wichtige Handlungsstränge nur angerissen werden. Könnte episch werden. Kläre Empfehlung!

Best voice actor I've ever heard!

I am absolutely no fan of LitRPGs and fantasy novels in general and stumbled upon The Wanderin Inn almost by accident.

But I cannot hold back to say just how uniquely brilliant this is.

Pirateaba clearly must have used some kind of enchantment spell, because analytically this novel just cannot work, but by magic it does.

1) the story
meanders aimlessly, endlessly for what feels like an eternity. Minor quests seem to drag on forever. Tedious little errands just go on forever.
Yet after some time I was literally sucked into this world, getting the feeling of experiencing an open-world RPG game.
Don't know how she does it, but gradually it all makes sense, and the larger plot shines through and I cannot stop listening..

By the time of writing volume 3 has been released as an audioibook and there seems no end to it. And it's just becomes so addictive.


2) the main character
Are at times so over-the-top like a manga cartoon. Erin acts just so naively stubborn like a 10-year-old spoilt child it hurts. But like the story you get used to this black/white contrast over time and cannot piucture her otherwise. It just works so well.
But still I can't believe how such a kid is sold as a "young adult".


3) the narrator Andrea Parsneau
This is the most outstanding aspect: The narrator Andrea Parsneau is by far the most capable, incredible voice actor I've ever heard. The mere diversity of creatures, races and characters is simply breathtaking. The different british accents themselves are a league of their own and then her design of speech of insectoids, lizards, wolfes etc. left me speechless.

I've listened to countless audiobooks but not one has even come close to the magic she is working here!

And suddenly it seems that the lengthy style of writing makes perfect sense because it gives more Parsneau time.

Gorgeous words. Well spoken. Such an enjoyable listen. Entirely captivating. Reader fits well with the story as well.

a great start

a great start in a huge fantasy world, full of wonder, conflict and adventure.
Andrea Parsneau breaths/reads(?) life in the different characters.

A Real Fantasy Gem !

A very nice fantasy slice of life story with a bit of action. The characters aren`t the typical heros of fantasy stories and often feel a lot more realistic. I really love the story and will continue to read the books (with kindle or just online) since I can't wait for the next audiobook.

Great. But not for everyone

Let me start out by saying this isn't a high fantasy book about a orphaned boy destined to save the world from some great evil. It's a slice if life story told from the pov of two characters.
It's a great story but it won't be everyone's cup of tea. And yes, the main characters are a little annoying in the beginning and make some questionable choices but it does get better in the second half. It also progresses slowly, but that's to be expected, it is an adaptation of a web serial after all, and one that is known for its super long chapters.
All I really like the world Pirate Aba created here and combined with Parseau's talent for voice acting, this has easily become one of my favorites and I can't wait to listen to the other books.
