It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

i loved this audiobook! the story is amazing and a bit different then anything else out there. there are so many characters that are unique and loveable (and hateable).

the speaker is amazing as well! I think I love the story even more because of her!

hopefully there will soon be a second part to listen to. dont really want to read the book since the speaker is so good.

A wonderful story of a young chess obsessed girl stranded in a strange RPG like world where she opens an inn.

The story switched between funny, wondering and melodramatic. The latter being the book's weak spots and every time telegraphed by everybody starting to act stupid to get to a conflict. Unfortunately that is also how the climax is built, previously competent people acting stupid, first the heros to get the conflict, then the enemy to resolve it.

But that is perhaps only 3 hours of weak story out of an otherwise glorious 40 hour epic.

The narrator is amazing, at points when I didn't recognize a characters name I could recognize her voice out tens of unique voices. Truly an outstanding performance.

after an odd and slow start, it got better and better. Different for a change. suspencefull. can't wait for voume 2. and I loved the lenth

This book is just Perfection. But the first few hours a tough. The main character starts as a whiney high pitched little girl. But this is on purpose. Her voice gets lower as she gets tougher. So don't get discouraged at hour 2. The characters are lovely detailed and have more then enough depth to care about there wellbeing. I won't spoiler you but maybe one dies or maybe not. There went so much love in the world building and lore that you can't stop feeling that you know the city and the world as a whole after ending this audio book. And the last few hours are really tough to not shad a tear. 11/10. My new favorite of all the litrpg's.

Out of over 30 litrp's I listened to, the very best, most intense and captivating narration ... by far.
As for the story, you will need to give it a chance to develop first, if you really want to enjoy this series ... but then you need to beware of not becoming an addict. ;)

The story appears relatively weak at the beginning, sounding like a boring and questionable child story first. It takes some time to introduce the world and characters. The narration helps a lot in bridging time before it gets really interesting, though. Fortunately there are enough hours in this audiobook to still make it an awesome deal. And it gets better, more interesting, and longer with each book, up to absolutely awesome.
The litrpg aspects are not as intense (and therefore also "not as boring") as in most others. No endless character sheet read outs over and over again - but an interesting skill system which invites to learn more about it.

Overall, so far the most extensive world build, number of interesting characters and length of story I've seen so far. A story to laugh and cry endless times. A story not made for those who like to sleep.

Still, the first book is the weakest, therefore only 4 stars for the story ... of book 1.

Witzige Idee, dass ein Innkeeper die Hauptfigur ist.
Sie erlebt Vieles und es gibt einige ergreifende Momente.
Trotz der Länge habe ich die ganze Story genossen.

It took some time, till the story really began, but that was not at all a bad thing. I liked how the characters and the world were introduced peace by peace.
And the story itself is just awesome. I finished this very long audio book way to fast.

The performance was really good as well. Nothing bad to say about it. Just five stars on everything.

this title has me in a pickle. the first hours are boring as f... but after some time, the story devevops, and things grow on you. might even get more of the series if things past the 30 hour mark pick up
