The story is great so far although a little bit heavy I hope this will at least lessen again somewhat in the books to come.
Characters are well written and interesting.
Narration is on point but I would enjoy for the Narrator not to fasten up her speech that much in action heavy scenes but this is just my preference and not really bothering me that much so I can overlook it quite easily.
All in all a great start and I will definitely follow the series along.

Before i go deeper into this. I really like the Voice Actor and that's why i gave this a try as audiobook. The whole thing is so much better with a snarky voiced MC, then in written form.
Positives:
- Lotsa Fighting
- Interesting Backstory that slowly unfolds
- MC isn't the center of the universe
- Gritty feeling to the world. Not like an Anime Goody Two shoe setup. People can be assholes and will be sometimes.
Negatives:
- Status Screens aren't optimized for this medium. The whole "ding. Level Up" spam and so on really can get on the nerves. Even more so if the author did it correctly inbetween and just summarized stuff in 2~3 Sentences or skipped needless Info. To later summarize it. So whatever he focused on with the re-write, didn't imrpove that aspect towards audibook friendlyness. What works well in written form, can be quite bad in the spoken one ...
- Shallow overall Drive for the Plot. But if you just like smiling at Illias anthics and listen to bad ass fights. It really doesn't matter. Storywise it picks up a bit later on altough. I probably know enough of the chapters, that half of book 2 wont suprise me. Past that, i stopped reading. Cause i lacked time and forgot it existed. As Audiobooks became more suited to me.
Warnings:
Includes Gorey descriptions, lotsa death, lotsa horrible things happening, lotsa masochistic moments and open mindedness towards sexuality. Nothing to extrem as this is in the end just a story and it kind of sets the world up as gritty. But i wouldn't recommend it to someone below 14 years.
I generally liked it. Going to get me the next ones too, if they realese more.
Book 1 is storywise more of a tuturial and the basic setup.
If you can stand the status screen madness, its a good one to listen to.

Positive:
-nice character development
-fast pacing
-i like the humor
-the narrator manages to show of emotions and feelings very well!
Negative:
-the narrator sometimes speeds up a LOOOOOT during action or fights... making it sometimes hard to follow for none native english speakers.
-the damn "system" news.... Pling leveled up---- pling, pling, pling, pling DHAAAAAA!!!!
i skipped sometimes 2 minutes or more just to get over it! you have a awesome story here! why not just... say Class x / skill x leveled up by 3! no.! its PLING: Class x leveled up to xxx. Ping: class.....
but apart from that? its really well written! and even if you skip all the damn plings? you only miss around.... 15 minutes? is what i would say.... anyway.
i would say its worth the purchase! just be prepared to get a headache after the 20th Pling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
