    Interesting and Boring

The one thing you'll realize while hearing or reading this book is, that the author was so in love with the mechanics of the "world" he created that he almost forgot to write a story. The first 55 of 112 chapters are nothing but fighting and discovering the world and it's mechanics. You can probably compare it to grinding for hours in an mmorpg.
While deep interpersonell relationships and complex charackters may not be a trademark of the litrpg genre an author shouldn't rely soley on worldbuilding either.

Thankfully, in the second half of the book the story get's generally better as a kind of antagonist is introduced and the protagonist can finally talk to other other people. There's still a ton of explaining but it's much more interesting when it is brought to you by diffenrent characters while the story finally progresses.
What I consider a huge plus ist the lack of descriptive violence. While there is tons of fighting it's not portrayed in great or gory detail.
The narrator does a solid, professional job as well.

One of the best LitRPG Worlds

I love this story for it's unique and amazing World. The Multiverse governed by the cruel system in Defiance of the Fall is truely fantastical and the strong point of this story. The Author pumps out a chapter per day, so the quality of the writing can occasionally dip, but this professionally edited release has helped remedy this. The merge of LitRPG elements and eastern cultivation is flawless and brings out the best of both worlds. If u need deep interpersonell relationships and complex charackters in your story this is probably not for you. It's all very basic, especially in the beginning, but that has never been the srong point of LitRPGs in generall...with some exceptions. That said it gets a lot better later, but we are still a few bookreleases away from that.
If you came here looking for a good LitRPG with an excellent world and a massive story to tell, you won't be disappointed. I have read everything and i will still get all the audiobooks as they come out just to experience the story again.

Story is not worth paying attention to

After about 30min of introduction of the new situation on earth, the story is a repetition of the same scheme by the protagonist kill, level, kill, level, kill ...
The main character, if you can name him that, has no depth at all and only every now and then the author mentions, that the hero has some problems, killing hundreds of people (named demons), in order to gain power.
After about 2/3 of the book (~16h!), the general of the invading forces is introduced as a personality and all of a sudden, the hero is on speaking terms with him.

Boring story and amateurish writing in my opinion

    overall nice entry

good world building, nice character development and depth.
story uses a lot of the usual tropes but well executed and fun to listen to.

i'd consider this on rather heavy side in terms of LitRPG elements. it also has a decent amount of wuxia references, which is nice imo.

overall a nice entry, with good pacing and sandboxing to submerse yourself into this universe.

    Battle heavy but good

Its true that a big part of the books are battles, but tgey don't feel boring or repetitive at all. Love all the good written action and the main character.
He has his flaws and knows he swims on his good luck, but at least so far he is pretty down to the ground and not arrogant at all.

    A bit grindy...

A solid litrpg story. I really enjoyed it! Not the best of the genre and not enough dungeoncrawls or adventuring but if you like a mainly solo lelup story it's above average. The first half of the book the word "Beeline" gets used every page but it gets better.

Slow start but it gets better

It has the same „problem“ as many webnovels:
    The beginning is pretty rough.
This is often due to the authors not having experience on how to properly write, they just want to share their story. As time progresses they get better with their writing.

In contrast to regular novels authors of webnovels usually don’t have any editors to bounce their ideas off and they drastically improve when readers give feedback.

This is the reason I don’t judge webnovels by their first book. This progress is very noticeable here the ending is improved compared to the beginning.

    Sleepaid - do not recommend

I don't undstand the hype. This first entry of the series is generic and boring and adds nothing to the litrpg genre. I guess the book is a bit older now but in 2023 it does not hold up.
The MC is a generic boring boy with and the whole story offers nothing to draw in the listener in the first 6 hours.. fell asleep 3-4 times while listing.
