    Worth sticking with.

Disclaimer; i only started listening to the audiobook, after having read it before. But since its read by Travis Baldree, i have no qualms about giving it a 5 star without having heard all of it.

One of the most enticing Litrpg's out there. Enticing characters, satisfying growth, interesting universe around it and a captivating main story arc. Highly recommend listening to it.

When i first started reading it, i stopped after barely starting because i had suffered through too many litrpg books in which the main character felt like the self-projection of a socially inept teenage author. And in the beginning, there are resemblances. Rest assured, that in this case it is by design and it is only an issue at the beginning. If you manage to ignore it for the first 30 minutes, you get rewarded by one of the best litrpg adventures there are.

    never quite delivered

Although it took me a little longer than usual to get into this book, it eventually started getting good. However, things seemed too spread out. Almost like certain situations and characters could have their own book which is probably why I felt the last chapter could have been placed just about anywhere in the story. Zero closure to anything. I would like more but this end but the endiy blows.

    Not that great sadly

Spoiler warrning: This one is a tough one sometimes i love the Story of Progress and other Times i hate it like nothing else. The whole book feels like all over the place. Most Times the Mc is not involved at all also most characters are just behaving irrational. Sorry but caroline is one of the worst made characters ever created.... Also there are way to many powerful psychopath even the mc is one. How easy it is for literally everyone to kill people is beyond me. Also a Problem is the pacing in Times its so freaking slow fights over fights over figths with little to no Story, sure the Tutorial is all about that but come on give us some character interaction beyond everyone dieing and Jacob evolving to beeing a saint which also btw is so freaking random it hurts.

All in all a good premise and the Viper God is quite funny but still the pacing and totally bland cast leaves a bad taste for me.

If you are desperate give it a go otherwise there are a lot of way bester litrpg out there. Travis Baldree is as always great but even he seems to be bored at Times.

    wer ist die Hauptfigur

Es wird, gerade am Ende mehr über den Feind geredet als das man den Helden bei der Entwicklung beobachtet

Don't be lured in by the high ratings

Being quite honest, I think most people rating this highly are people that read the original on RoyalRoad, thus skewing the average rating with an already existing fanbase.

While the plot is interesting enough, this is a prime example of poor writing that is so prevalent in the LitRPG genre. There are literally entire chapters of pointless info dumps. I'm not kidding. The character is presented with 5 skills, he reads all of them and gives his opinion on each and every one in excruciating detail, only to chose the last one. Always. And at the start of the next chapter, the chosen skill gets explained again after he picks it. Having skipped the entire chapter, you missed nothing.
This is just one example, and these at least are easy to avoid. Just skip ahead whenever a class or skill decision is going on and save yourself the time. However, these aren't the only info dumps you'll have to suffer. The more annoying ones are the ones that are 80% info dump and 20% relevant information, of which there are a lot. So you skim through the book, trying to gleam the point within the barrage of pointless information thrown at you. And there are a lot of these. At least half of all the chapters are primarily info dumps.

Long story short, the pacing is absolutely horrible. The plot is somewhat interesting and listening to Travis is always a treat, so I wouldn't say it's not worth giving a try at all, but make sure it's aaall the way at the bottom of your reading list. This particular book is for people desperate for a new read.

One of the best Litrpg out there

I love this Audiobook. The Main Charakter is powerful but not omnipotent. He has weakness like his social skills. Also i like the concept of the Bloodline and the Staus is easy to understand.
The Things i dont like about this are that it ends in the middle of the Tutorial and William. He ist just irretating.
