Über diesen Titel

King of Duels marks the passing of the torch from our beloved Andrea Parsneau to a new narrator. Erin Bennett, a Golden Voice narrator, will continue to bring the magic of The Wandering Inn to life.

The world is full of adventures, big and small.

From exploring the [Garden of Sanctuary] to the depths of the sea, there are countless fascinating discoveries to be made. Not just in the places people go, but in the things they create... or recreate from Earth. Chocolate, lifting weights, and alcohol all flow through The Wandering Inn with unexpected consequences at times.

However, there's also war, [Assassins], and scams that ruin or destroy lives. For every monster, there is an adventurer. The Stitch Witch may creep forward, and the King of Destruction continues his rampage across nations, but there will always be a champion who steps forward.

Featuring a foreword from Andrea Parsneau.

The change was a challenge but it's a hard act to follow. Please work on Floss he felt evil, like a different person. As for all the other characters good job and thank you for the hard work.

The new voice.

It is impressive for an Author to publish a 16th (!) part of a Series without any noticable decline in quality. I'm still miffed at the end that I don't have an immediate next Book. Also, Erin Bennett did a remarkable Job of continuity as a new narrator. I actually totally forgot that there's a new Narrator at work - ok the Rrrrrrrs of the Antinium are a bit sharper, I think, but that's it. Impressive.

Solid

Let's face it, Andrea Parsneau is my personal hero - a voice of wonder and much much more. It was because of her, that I had discovered The Wandering Inn a long while ago. One among her most strong points, that sooooo many other voice actors lack, is a wide range of voices. Erin Bennett, the new voice, seems to have exactly this strong point, too.

Now, The Wandering Inn had to find a new 'voice'. I think, Erin Bennett is maybe one of a few out there, that could do the job. In short, I'm looking forward for a few adventurous hours with her and the full Wandering Inn cast.

Erin Bennett - good voice substitute for Andrea P.

Erin Bennett does an exceptional job of replicating the old voices. It is not a 100% fit, e.g. Erin Solstice seems shriller than before, but I found myself quickly able to focus on and be immersed in the new story. All the best and many thanks to Andrea Parsneau.

Way better than I feared

The new Narrator does a very good Job, but it`s just not the same, and after listening to the old one for all the Books before, it is very hard to listen to, especially with Non-Humans, they all kind of sound the same, while before every one of them had a different own Voice. I know it`s probably not easy to find an Alternative, and I really don`t know how many People listen to this kinds of Books and how much Money they make with this, but feels to me like, they should have tried to convince Andrea Parsneau to go on, it`s not they don`t want to give the new Reader no Chance, but Andrea did such a Great Job, and the new one, like I said, it`s hard to understand the Voice Differences especially between the Drakes and the Antineum, they now all sound the same, before when you heard the Voice, you knew who was speaking.

It`s just not the same

honestly, i love andrea parsneau as much as anyone here but the new narrator did amazingly good. if you give the change a chance, you'll forget something changed halfway through the book!

New Narrator, old quality

I know it was anounced, that a new voice actor would be introduced in this book and I had high hopes for it. I don't want to be ungrateful and i know it is a hard job, but the new voice actor is not my favourite. She always sounds way to serious and she does way to many rhetorical pauses. Also, the voice is to high pitched for my taste.

It's a shame, I really like the story and i hope to adjust to the new voice.

Good story, but the new voice actor is not my type

When I heard that Erin Bennett would take over from Andrea Parsneau, I was actually relieved—I knew it meant a strong, professional continuity. King of Duels proves it. Bennett delivers a nuanced performance with crisp diction, clear character delineation, and confident pacing that carries both quiet, emotional beats and high-energy duels. She doesn’t imitate Parsneau; she owns the role with her own timbre while preserving the tone and atmosphere longtime listeners love. After a short adjustment period, I stopped noticing the change and simply enjoyed the story.

As for the book itself: it’s quintessential The Wandering Inn—ambitious set pieces, smart world-building, and meaningful character moments. My appeal to fellow fans: give this narration a fair chance. Andrea set a very high bar; Erin meets it. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the audiobook up to now. Not fully finished it but the Story is continuing nicely.

One Problem is the switch to the new Voice Actor... after 15 books and over 400 hours of time probably.
Erin Bennett is doing a good job for most of the human-female cast. The voices are close to the original.

But the changes to the "non-human" female cast is strange. Feels like Erin Bennett isn't fully in character and just adding extra fluff. The male cast overall is a bit wonky. Given that theres nearly no male humans and everyone has a special talking pattern and stuff... Yeah.Don't get me started with the Ants xD... feels like new people. I have problems recognizing whos who...

I still dont know why the change needed to occur. *Shrugs*

Good , but the change in VA is felt.

I've never listened to a series before where the voice actor changed and it was kinda jarring to hear this familiar story and its characters in a different voice. In the beginning it felt almost like listening to a completely new story for the first time and it took some getting used to for me, especially since Andrea Parsneau is one of my favourite voice actors and I'm always overjoyed to listen to her work and the unique voices she give the characters. That being said, Erin Bennett did a phenomenal job. Following after another great voice actor after she narrated 15 books of that series can't have been easy. She did great at keeping the characters' voices as consistent as possible while giving them her own spin. I needed to relearn how all the characters sound, which was definitely not as hard as it could have been, thanks to a great performance. All in all, I am devastated to see Andrea go, but I'm also looking forward to listening to more of Erin Bennett's version of the Wandering Inn in the future.

New voice actor, same great quality
