genius
the first law series is a masterpiece of dark storytelling.
no noble heroes, no invincible masters, no good nor evil, just petty flaws, incompetence, bad decisions and lots of blood.
abercrombie creates a lot of utterly unique characters, some of which - even with all their flaws - often manage to be likable.
the narrator is brilliant in his inflections and diversity of accents and voices.

Strong ending for a good trilogy
Extremely well read. This narrator is on the Top 3 from the 72 titles I've listened to so far.
The story in this book isn't as fantastic as the first 2 were, but it's a very strong ending to a great trilogy. Stays true to its core philosophy down to the last page. Highly recommend.

GoT without the tediously long descriptions
if you like fantasy this is a must-read. the non-fantasy parts are believable, the magic not stupid, it is harsh, brutal, daring, superb chars. loved every page.

great story, brilliantly told
Another great Book of the series. Love the dark humour and that the characters can not be simply put in the good/bad category. If you like a character or not, depends on how much and what kind of bad side of a personality you can take and still sympathise. And Steven Pacey did a great job again.

characters, narrator absolute perfection

Great book, awesome reading performance!
The whole First Law trilogy is absolutely top notch and the last installment doesn't disappoint, if you already liked the first 2 volumes. Abercrombie is master of creating fully fleshed out and utterly believable characters. His fine sense of (often black) humour makes even the bleakest scenes enjoyable to read. His story twists are surprising and often very amusing, the dialogues sharp and witty.
Regarding the audiobook I have to say: Steven Paceys performance is outstanding! This is even a 6 out of 5. He is not just reading the audiobook, he is more "acting" the scenes. Each character has an unique voice and Pacey masters a lot of different voices, all very appropriate for the respective characters. His Glokta is a show of it's own! Pacey is a marvellous narrator for this audiobook.
Overall: Highly recommended!

And so it ends
The trilogy comes slowly to an end with some unhappy surprises. Partly no fun to hear, but still gripping.

schon vorbei...
super drei Teile nur hät ich mir am Ende ein bisschen schönere Anschlüsse gewünscht... aber man muss ja realistisch sein
