Joe takes his first step into exile, and is promptly unable to breathe. This new Zone has a higher concentration of power, magnitudes denser. His first task is to survive, but mere survival is the least of his concerns.

The Zone he has landed on has been in a state of constant war for thousands of years, a tug of war between the Elven and Dwarven societies. Not choosing a side is the same as declaring both to be your personal enemy. Though he is resistant, Joe reluctantly decides to go with the group he thinks will help him grow the most - and is instantly plunged into their bitter war. To gain the freedom he desires, Joe needs to turn to the less savory aspects of his class.

An amazing next title in the completionist saga! I only paused once in order to sleep. :D I'd you're unsure of this should be your next title, it has to be!

Sehr spannend und humorvoll. Sprecher ist sehr gut und sorgt für eine eindrucksvolle Atmosphäre. Die Blooper am Ende sind immer gut und machen den Sprecher noch sympathischer.

Can't wait to get the next book. Hope this will feature more characters than just Joe and make him rebuild his team. Also getting together with the guild again will be nice. I know it already!

Spoiler alert:
I have one main gripe and that has to do with the drawfs.

The drawfs intelligence, it makes sense for those who lost their memory and have been reborn as dwarfs not to long ago but I find it generally, considering how he interacts with many reasonable dwarfs later on, unfitting how they were at first shown as dumb brutes but later in all interactions are reasonable. Some kind of explanation should have been there at the beginning that it takes time for them to regain lost knowledge or something else otherwise it just doesn't make sense for them to be Artificer of advanced machinery and technology while at the some time banging their heads against shields just to see when it starts hurting. I just find them a bit too dumb at the beginning without a reason given.

Insgesamt mag ich die Completionist Chronicles, aber spätestens ab dem Side Quest wurde klar….it is another never ending story. Anfangs fand ich die Buchreihe mal erfrischend, aber spätestens ab dem 3. Band finde ich die zum Teil endlose Aneinanderreihung von Experience und Skill Points langsam ermüdend. Nichtsdestotrotz sind die Entwicklungen durchaus spannend, ich finde es nur was schade das heutzutage alle Bücher die sich scheinbar gut verkaufen danach nie wieder ein Ende finden. Das stört mich bei Terry Mancoure, Kevin Hearne und auch bei Robert Jordan wurde es dann irgendwann mal etwas zäh. Hoffe das die Completionist Chronicles nicht ebenso ausufern, das nimmt mir persönlich ein bisschen die Freude am Hörerlebnis.

New zone, new enemies and new skills, fun book, the stat reading is somewhat annoying though

The dwarfs are fun

While it was a fun sorry and there were quite a few things that I enjoyed, but it left a bad taste in the end:
- The MC is even more forgetful and clueless than before
- He's not really deciding for himself but is constantly forced out thrown into something and needs to improvise, acts reckless, forgets about his abilities, carelessly makes new enemies
- In the audiobook, the voices of the dwarves don't really fit. Especially that of Havoc, the most important side-character, is weirdly high-pitched despite him being a dwarf!
- The book makes light of war in a way that just doesn't sit right with me
- There is a lot of whining from the MC
- His non-exiled friends are only mentioned in one paragraph in an off-hand manner, and the MC shows no interest in them
- Time is described to be passing but the MC seems to be doing only what is mentioned, which is very little

Not as good as its predecessors

I liked the former books and what the narrator did with them a lot, But I couldn't stand the dwarf voices in this book - at all. And since it plays in their world, there is no way to avoid them. For me it felt like a visit to Yoda's homeworld, only with the inhabitants being on the other end of the intelligence scale. Couldn't bear it. Just my personal opinon, of course.
