outstanding book, very intersting perspectives from 3 Charakters. interesting insights into (finally!) politics of the high council of terra.

I will keep it concise:
- Well developed characters
- Sister of Silence
- Terran politician
- Custodes
- Well developed story

The story is told from the perspective of the 3 characters and is thus informed and influenced by each respective character. The event in which they are all involved gives the listener deep insight into the inner workings of the Imperium and the multitude of factions therein. At first I thought this book would be all about politics and the dealings of the 3 characters but, without spoiling, the story is so much more interesting.

While I started with Horus Heresy novels and got used to the story-telling there (character introduction, obstacle, dramatic build up, huge fight, good/bad ending) I really enjoyed this book much much more. It has more depth and is more immersive than almost all the Horus Heresy Novels I read so far (apart from Thousand Sons - damn that book is awesome).

All in all, you not only should but MUST listen to/read this book.

Wraight is telling an interesting story following the Fall of Cadia, depicting the inner workings of the Imperium, the mighty Adeptus Custodes and the Sisters of Silence.
Every minute is worth listening to, the narrators embody their counterparts brilliantly. All in all a great work, both from Chris Wraight and all 3 narrators.

Ich habe mich in erster Linie vom Cover leiten lassen. Custodians und Schwestern haben mich schon immer interessiert. Wie sich die Geschichte und die Charaktere entwickelten hat mich sowohl fasziniert als auch bewegt. Ein guter Einblick in alle Aspekte des gigantischen Imperiums der Menschheit, seinen Feinden und der zu menschlichen Begehrlichkeiten der Herrscher auf Terra. Besonders auch die verschiedenen Blickwinkel der handelnden Personen waren das was die Geschichte zu etwas besonderem machte. Eins der besten 40k Hörbücher das ich je gehört habe. Definitiv zu empfehlen.

Dieses Audiobuch gibt Einblick in die Welt der Custodes, der Schwesternschaft der Stille und den Politikern des Warhammer Universums. Dabei schlaegt es eine Bruecke zwischen dem was einst war im 30k Zeitalter und der jetztzeit in der Spielwelt. Man erfaehert einiges und das Hoerbuch war fuer mich, wenn auch manchmal einen Tick langatmig, eine wahre Freude anzuhoehren.

The story is excellent but the audio leaves much to be desired, and the volume between the three narrators (who did a wonderful job otherwise) differs notably. It doesn't detract from the story, though.
