But when an artefact emerges that may hold the key to the necrons’ next evolution, these two obsessives enter a multi-millennia game of cat and mouse that ends civilisations, reshapes timelines, and changes both forever. As riddles unwind and ancient secrets are revealed, the question remains: will their feud save the necron race or destroy it?

GET THIS F BOOK
Although sometimes the writing is SO descriptive it is sometimes hard to follow (specially with all these space magic science words from 40k) the book is a masterpiece. The world becomes alive to you and the interactions between Trazyn and Orikan have a great dynamic of pettiness and glory. Both super interesting characters may I add.

einfach gut

Great book with mildly annoying measurements
This is utterly pedantic, however the constant switching between qbits (or however they are spelled, this is an audiobook after all) and imperial units kind of bugged me. Of course the clearest option would be metric, but if the author is American I can accept imperial units, and even the qbits are fine, as Necrons very likely wouldn’t use metric or imperial and you can still roughly estimate distances. However what bugged me was that sometimes something was measures in qbits and then a paragraph later something else would be measured in feet.
This is not even remotely close to a dealbreaker, it’s not even worth subtracting a star for, it’s just something I’d like to be more consistent in future books, if there are any upcoming ones.

This is by far the best Audiobook I have ever listened to!
Great in-depth look into the Necrons, their backstories and their thoughts and motives.

the most fun 40k novel
this is the best 40k Novel and a refreshing new take on the franchise and the necron faction on a whole. fun for all ages, truly a wild ride !

Amazing
An interesting look into the Necron Race. Their non caring towards the Horrors that make other Factions shiver, their sheer power, held back by feuds, fueled by petty. Truly the most dangerous faction in the 40k Universe right now, that is holding itself on a leash.

Great Audiobook
To be honest, it’s my first 40k book or audiobook I have consumed but I have to say it was everything I could have wished for and more. Definitively a Must for every 40k fan
