The story
Exile to the miserable world of Sedh, the disgraced Necron Lord Oltyx is consumed with bitterness. Once heir to the throne of a dynasty, he now commands nothing but a dwindling garrison of warriors, in a never-ending struggle against Ork invaders. Oltyx can think of nothing but the prospect of vengeance against his betrayers, and the reclamation of his birthright. But the Orks are merely the harbingers of a truly unstoppable force. Unless Oltyx acts to save his dynasty, revenge will win him only ashes. And so he must return to the crownworld, and to the heart of the very court which cast him out. But what awaits there is a horror more profound than any invader, whose roots are tangled with the dark origins of the Necrons themselves.

The story!!!! WOW!!!!
Beautifully written and narrated. Love it. To hear something other than just Space Marines. Necrons are amazing.

Just great entertainment

Nice~
Even if games workshop is kinda the bad guy since a few years.
The lore and the authors of such great books aren't at fault for their masters bad practices.
THIS book is why i love necrons so much.
Or rather this is one of the books that just spill over with passion, lore and well thought out plot.
Given an extremly god like voice actor, that is Richard Reed, it's well written story get that breath of life instantly.
Well ... un-life? What type of exisnteces are necrons again. Something like souls stripped of alot of their emotions and other things. So the cathan could feed on that energy, which more or less would have gone to the warp otherwise on their death.
The story isn't straight.
You won't know whats it about for the first few hours probably.
But the setup is dearly needed. As it gives the necrons, which are most times envisioned as the bad guys. A needed paint of underlyng truths.
I'm excited for more books in this series.
To be said. It's not as funny as the shennanigans between the diviner and the collector. But it's packed with witty dialouges ^^.

nerons all the way
great audio book with the perfect voice, if you like nercpn its a must, first part is a littel slow second part will not feel like 6 houers.

Silbernes Gold 👌
Eine necron Story wie sie sein soll, leichter dipp in Qualität nach der "Operation" dies mindert die Geschichte selber allerdings nicht all zu sehr.

Erfrischend anders
Die Necrons und damit Xenos als Hauptakteur werden hier wunderbar in Szene gesetzt. Das Imperium, mit all seiner Macht, tritt hier nur am Rande aber als eben jene erschreckende Gefahr auf, wie man es sonst nur aus imperialer Sicht kennt. Die tiefen der Necron Gesellschaft und die Dramen ihrer Existenz bekommen hier ein Gesicht das, anders als bei vielen anderen Xenos Büchern aus dem 40k Universum, mitfühlen lässt. Fast Menschlich wirken die Sorgen und Nöte der Protagonisten. Hat einfach Spaß gemacht und ich hoffe auf eine Fortsetzung!
