A thoroughly engaging tale of magic and mystery, as always well read by Simon Vance. The four star rating is due to occasional slips in the Scottish accent which briefly interrupts immersion, but the wonderful story and his otherwise stellar performance drew me back in just as quickly.

Es gibt kaum ein besseres Buch! Der Sprecher verleiht den Figuren, insbesondere Shadwell, Uriel und Cal das gewisse Etwas!

Weaveworld war für mich leider eine Enttäuschung. Die vielversprechende Story schafft es nie einen soliden Handlungs- und Spannungsbogen aufzubauen, die Protagonisten bleiben in ihrer Charakterzeichnung flach und in ihrer Entwicklung kaum nachvollziehbar, ein Mitfiebern stellt sich nicht ein. Die Abläufe erscheinen teils wirr und willkürlich, auch genretechnisch kaum zu greifen, irgendwo im Niemandsland zwischen Naked Lunch und Narnia. Der Sprecher macht einen soliden Job, ist aber zB bei der Nutzung von Dialekten inkonsequent. Von meiner Seite keine Kaufempfehlung.
