an incredibly well written book that engages from the start to the end. a sci-fi novel that contains several different genres within itself. great narration as well.

This is a great production of a story that still feels modern and interesting. The story-structure around the protagonists is compelling and only a few of the tales show their age. Well worth listening to!

Echoing some of the other reviews here, a lot of the story and voice acting is mixed. Some great high points and some real low points as well (the soldier's tale stands out as completely uninteresting and at times baffling). But Hyperion is ultimately redeemed by a great final act that really ties its worldbuilding together and manages what many books that are superior on a moment to moment basis don't: it sticks with you. If you are in the middle of the book, wondering if its worth to go on like I was, be assured that it is.
