Once upon a time, in a land blighted by terror, there was a very clever boy.

The people thought the boy could save them, so they opened their gates and sent him out into the world.

To where the monsters lived.

In The Boy on the Bridge, M. R. Carey returns to the world of his phenomenal word-of-mouth best seller, The Girl With All the Gifts, for the very first time.

Felt more like a Crew Diary than a Fantasy Novel. Very high quality writing and great for people who are more Interested in Personal Conflicts, Inner friction and overall Morality from different perspectives of Characters who are all forced to Interact with each other, than in Action and/or Intense developments. Most of them are realistic People with their own understandable perspectives and reasons for why they act like they do and yet from each others perspectives they all seem like the greatest aholes.
If you are impatient or not necessarily Interested in this you will never get through the Audiobook. If you are, then this is pretty good. But I would still highly suggest the First book, which I thought had an overall more Interesting premise.

Amazing Story for very Patient Listeners

doesn’t reach the hight of the other book “the girl with all the gifts”. Characters were a bit less interesting and the first half felt a little dragged, sometimes even confusing.
But still worth it. No doubt!

Top notch entertainment but

I loved the first part and this was almost as good, more contemplative than horror thrill maybe but plenty of that around too.

A beautiful continuation
