Die Grundidee ist ebenso grandios wie der Erzählstil des Autors und die Ausführung (Sprecher). Ich bin kein Science Fiction Fan, aber eine gute Geschichte ist eine gute Geschichte. Und dies ist eine sehr gute Geschichte.

Only negative is the humour for me, all the references just seem like a bit of a circle jerk and personally, they don’t land. It’s like the hello fellow kids meme but with sci-if references and a constant “look at me I used to do computery things and I’m such a nerd, look at all my Star Trek references, totally nerdy, right?” undertone. Otherwise really solid though, I’d still recommend it.

The book is an Hommage to the science fiction TV shows, movies and books of the late 20th century and a must-read for every sci-fi fan and tech-nerd. You could say, it's sort of an analogue to "Ready Player One" transferred to Sci-Fi stories.
Ray Porter does an amazing job in making dozens of "identical" persons distinguishable. He shows a wide repertoire of dialects and characters in a way that it's a joy to listen to him. Beyond that, he speaks very clearly and in the right pace, so it was easy to follow for me as a non-native english speaker.

Mir haben vor allem die vielen Anspielungen auf Star Trek, aber auch Star Wars und andere SciFi-Filme und -Serien gefallen. Und der Sprecher ist einfach grandios. Der könnte sogar ein Telefonbuch wie eine fesselnde Geschichte klingen lassen.

As the title says this is probably a nerds wet dream, making heavy use of pop culture, both scientific and sci fi concepts while explaining both mixed all together with a good portion of existentialism with questions like "what is a soul?", "who am i really and what makes me me?" as well as the question if you are the same person at different periods of your life or not.

The Narrator does a very well job giving each character their own special voice and its quite frankly a blast listening to him.

Overall, this might be my first audio book, but it sure wont be my last thanks to this.

I went into this book blind and never expected it to be *THAT* good.
It's a truely original story, flawlessly written and performed, so that by the end, you simply can not help but fall in love with Bob and the various aspects of his personality.
The irony: Bob the AI is the most fleshed out, humane character I've had the honor to have his story told to me.
