More length, less humor, few new things. Trope-y. Could have used a bit more time and trimming.

More an extention of book 1 plot wise, with the upcoming book 3 concluding the story (a structural mistake IMO; feels like the author is out of steam). Clever, humorous subversions are nonexistent.

Overall less Pratchett-esque and more cynical than satirical or grotesque. Character development and character dynamics are basically on hold for most of the story. No new satirical elements of a dysfunctional fantasy world and some plot thread deliberately held back for book 3 (not very creative).
