As much as I loved the concept and premisse of the story, I disliked some of the concepts.
Without getting too deep into spoilers, a lot of the story deals with the passage of time and how it is percieved differently from differwnt perspectives.
As interesting as that may sound it brings a problem with it. It is hard to get attached to characters when suddenly a hundred years pass and almost everyone you "knew" is no longer alive.
Some of the perspectives are also not the most engaging or deal with sci-fi topics. You'll know what I mean when you read the book.

Without it being a literary masterwork children of time manages to present an extremely compelling story that spans solar systems and ages, weaving a narrative that, even though fragmented, it never fails to seemlessly pick up where it previously left off. Humanity's desperation to fight a new home clashes against their own long forgotten creations in ways that will have the reader question ideals and morals as well as whom they are rooting for.

This was Adrian Tchaikovsky’s first novel for me and I instantly fell in love. Intelligent, incredibly well-written and entertaining there is nothing to add or take away in this true masterpiece of modern science fiction.
Wonderful reading by Mel Hudson, bringing this piece of art truly to life.
