to be honest the Mechanicum never has been a real focus of my attention. therefore i just bought this audiobook for completionist sake. inever wouldve imagined that this would rank at the top of my favourite list after finishing it. great writing. brilliant vocalization by Toby Longworth. absolutey worth your time and money.

Das Hörbuch ist ein weiterer guter Teil in der Horus Heresy Reihe. Die genaue Beschreibung der unterschiedlichen Charaktere durch deren Wünsche und Emotionen weckt das Buch für mich mehr zum Leben als es andere Romane dieser Reihe tun. Die Figuren hier sind nicht ganz so platt, wie sie es in der WH 42k Welt üblich ist. Kurzweilig!

Leider ist die Lautstärke des Sprechers, auch unabhängig vin der Dramaturgie, sehr wechselhaft, so dass immer wieder gerade Satzenden verloren gehen. Das ist auf Dauer extrem lästig

Tbh, I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of the Mechanicum faction, but this book was a superb listen. It's vital to the greater story of the heresy and puts meat on the bone of Mars' situation during the beginning of the great betrayal.

A lot of great characters, all of which feel fleshed out and well presented.

Missing one star because there are some questions presented that are to date unanswered and feel almost immersion breaking, still a big recommend
