Absolutely loved the book, both story and narration. The crossover to following books is especially great, in addition to providing much needed and welcome context for the other two series that follow this one, chronologically speaking.

Dieses Buch war nicht das beste aus der Reihe, aber so eins gibt es ja fast überall. ;-) Dennoch war es spannend und auf jeden hörenswert, wenn man die übrigen Bücher von Andrew Rowe kennt. Ich würde auch gern sofort wissen, wie es weitergeht, muss mich wohl aber noch eine Weile Gedulden. Nick Podehl war super, wie immer!

Ich wurde ein weiteres Mal nicht enttäuscht. Rowe schafft es Buch um Buch mich zu begeistern und herüber zu ziehen in eine Welt voll geheimnisvoller Charaktere, weiser Magier und (mehr und mehr) magischer Schwerter. Das ganze kommt nicht in der epischen Breite eines Brandon Sanderson daher und auch nicht in der zynischen Weltsicht eines George R.R. Martin. Rowe hat seinen eigenen Style, mehr etwas von einem Christopher Paolini, nur ohne den Mangel an Wortschatz 😅
Trotzdem fehlt es der Geschichte nicht an Mysteriosität und tausenden loser Enden (Sanderson), die Rowe versteht geschickt zu verweben, genau in dem Moment in dem man schon wieder vergessen hatte, dass sie noch offen waren (Martin).
Ich möchte meine absolute Hör-Empfehlung aussprechen, für die ganze Reihe - für die ganze Welt, deren Geschichten Rowe mit seiner kurzweiligen Erzählweise zu Opium für die Ohren macht.
Achja - zu Nick Podehl muss denke ich kein weiteres Wort verloren werden. Absolute Spitzenklasse. Da muss jemand weder vor John Lee, noch vor Roy Dotrice den Hut ziehen.

I enjoyed reading this, the previous books where better though. I like how many interesting details and enigmas surround the characters and even when many get lifted in this book it still is interesting.

Important note: The audio was not proof-listened if that is a word. You can hear the performer read lines multiple times because they forgot to cut something out. It feels very rushed when compared to the last two

+ Really good Continuation of the Story. Its very combat-driven with a lot of insight into the minds of the characters. I especially liked the fact that they "think" in magic. While obviously something fictional, the magic system feels very real.

The characters are a bit over the top, but in a very good way. They are just entertaining to follow.

The story is a bit all over the place sometimes and takes frequent jumps where you have to fill in the gaps yourself. I wouldnt call it confusing but more like that there are cliffhangers between chapters, that are explained a few chapters later.

The performance itself is phenomenal. One of my favorite performers. The characters feel alive and each character feels different.
