An manchen Stellen des Buches merkt man, dass der Autor wirklich spannend erzählen kann. Leider vergisst er die längste Zeit darauf, es auch mal zu tun.
Genauso bahnt sich besonders gegen Ende des Buches eine interessante und fesselnde Geschichte an.... die nur leider vorbei ist bevor sie so wirklich angefangen hat.

Das Buch war jetzt nicht direkt schlecht, aber meiner Meinung nach nichts dass man auf keinen Fall verpassen will und auch nichts dass einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlässt.

Eine weniger apathische Sprecherin wird schwierig zu finden sein.
Selbst Situationen hoher emotionaler Spannung werden eher mit mildem Interesse vorgelesen. Ich empfehle die gedruckte Version.

wer Geschichten mag, in wo einiges impliziert und weniges erklärt wird, wird hier voll auf seine Kosten kommen.

Judging from other reviews, you either love or hate this book. I belong in the former category. Although I find the protagonist rather unlikeable, her narration is interesting and the main plot thrilling, making me want to find out more. If you like dis-/utopian sci-fi books and biology, definitely recommend.

Preternatural bio sci-fi

I learned something about myself with this: I can hardly put down an audio book even if I know from about minute 5 that I am loathing it.

If you're into stories that stack mystery upon mystery upon mystery without any hope of EVER coming to a quite sensible resolution, you'd might like this book. The TV series "Lost" comes to mind. Watched all of it. Felt cheated in the end. This feels quite the same (minus the grand kick-off).

So. I am not the biggest fan of Lost, Lovecraft or body horror. Turns out I don't like the mix of these either.

Not too crazy about the narrator.

Maybe I am not the target audience . . .
