I would use a narrator who spoke with more than a whisper.

Was war der interessanteste Aspekt der Handlung? Welcher der uninteressanteste?

Most interesting:
The author hints at a long since past catastrophe and describes a world basically set in the middle ages, but spiked with high-tech that is partially not understood.
Unfortunately this is not treated enough in the story.

Least interesting:
The whole issue of the Torturer's Guild. It is just a strange setting, without reason. It does not, however, enrich the story.

No. The narratow speaks slowly and often very quietly. The impression is that of a half asleep main character to wanders through life dream like.

Not really. I often wish I had something that grabs me more.

I think that's enough.

I can recommend this book as it is very much. but the reader makes it extra special. combined with the dense prose it feels like listening to poetry.

Der Autor plant offenbar, sich mehrere Bücher lang ausbreiten zu können. Deshalb gibt es eine Geschichte, Progression oder eine Beschreibung der Welt nur in winzigen Dosen. Alles wird endlos ausgewalzt.

Den Teil in der Zitadelle konnte ich noch wohlwollend ertragen, aber sobald der Folterer seine Reise beginnt, folgt eine hanebüchene und unterwältigende Szene auf die nächste. Für mich endet die Reise mit Buch 1.
