    Inhaltsangabe

Winter has come to the world, and still, Erin Solstice has no idea how she came to be an [Innkeeper].

Erin is running an inn outside the city of Liscor, but she’s no longer alone. Ryoka Griffin, the City Runner, has business in the south of Izril; she’s out on a dangerous delivery of her own. Yet while both young women have finally found their calling, more and more people are beginning to realize that these visitors from Earth don’t belong here.
Erin must find new guests and old for her inn while expanding her tentative business. Staying safe would also be nice. At the same time, some pesky creatures have arrived to herald winter, and they bring mischief and danger unlike anything she’s ever seen. But as more and more children of Earth begin appearing, the cold of winter is the least of Erin’s worries.

Another Master Piece of Joy :3.

    Well,

    lets start with the obvious.
    Perfect Voice Actor.
Good Story that overlaps with multiple side character storys.
Not too much plot armor, but Eren and Ryhoka have it still thick.
Laughed, cryed and was suprised on more then one occation how the plot went on.

    The only minus points were:
    - I laughed way to hard on that interlude with the three woman at a restaurant, doing girls talk. People looked weirdly at me in the tram.
    - I kinda hate the "Victim Troupe to become stronger" stuff. I won't spoil it, but around 4 hours where pretty much a setup. For Ryhoka to get her act together, while lots of people she liked died. Same as the last book. xD She seems to be the asshole with the social problems, that you just wanna smack on the head really hard. But at a few times, shes a good character.

Generally i would have loved less interludes of non related people to the mc. The clown one was a bit too forced and didn't really give anything new to us. Outside of that.

... i still don't get the american age stuff.
Eren is 21 but behaves like a 12 year old and is viewed like a 12 year old at alot of times.
That one "girl" everyon says is a kid, is actually 18 years old.
And somehow Ryohka is the oldest, but sounds like a cranky teenager most of the time. xD

    *shrugs*

Its not a negative point. But it's weird for someone from europa. Well i guess i compare people to much to myself, when i was 16 ~18 ...

Now its waiting for Book 3 ... while multiple cliffhangers are in place.
Damm Death Gods... i need a time skipping device.

    simply breathtaking!

what a wonderful story! whimsical, funny, as well as tense and sad in all the right places, you cant help but fall in love with all the characters in and out of this world.
and the voice acting is great as well! lots of different voices, must be really difficult to pull off.
cant wait for the next one!

    Can’t wait for the sequel!

It is a brilliantly written and beautifully performed audio-book. The character-development is really nicely done and it took me just over a week to listen to the whole book.

Spoiler alert: I would have hoped for a more climatic ending - this cliffhanger will be a hard (hopefully not to long) waiting period for book 3!

Best voice actor I've ever heard!

I am absolutely no fan of LitRPGs and fantasy novels in general and stumbled upon The Wanderin Inn almost by accident.

But I cannot hold back to say just how uniquely brilliant this is.

Pirateaba clearly must have used some kind of enchantment spell, because analytically this novel just cannot work, but by magic it does.

    1) the story
meanders aimlessly, endlessly for what feels like an eternity. Minor quests seem to drag on forever. Tedious little errands just go on forever.
Yet after some time I was literally sucked into this world, getting the feeling of experiencing an open-world RPG game.
Don't know how she does it, but gradually it all makes sense, and the larger plot shines through and I cannot stop listening..

By the time of writing volume 3 has been released as an audioibook and there seems no end to it. And it's just becomes so addictive.

    2) the main character
Are at times so over-the-top like a manga cartoon. Erin acts just so naively stubborn like a 10-year-old spoilt child it hurts. But like the story you get used to this black/white contrast over time and cannot piucture her otherwise. It just works so well.
But still I can't believe how such a kid is sold as a "young adult".

    3) the narrator Andrea Parsneau
This is the most outstanding aspect: The narrator Andrea Parsneau is by far the most capable, incredible voice actor I've ever heard. The mere diversity of creatures, races and characters is simply breathtaking. The different british accents themselves are a league of their own and then her design of speech of insectoids, lizards, wolfes etc. left me speechless.

I've listened to countless audiobooks but not one has even come close to the magic she is working here!

And suddenly it seems that the lengthy style of writing makes perfect sense because it gives more Parsneau time.

    Expectations met!

I didn’t know what to expect after the first part but I was really happy when I finished it. I was also sad because it was over and I didn’t know how long I must wait to get to the 3rd book. But finally I got it today and I’m very curious.

I like the different charakters especially Erin and Ryoka. They were two so different people, the one so tough while the other one, Erin, so naive and bona fide.
The only thing I felt a little bit annoyed of (not enough to give lesser points ;)), is that Erins sense of pity with Lion or creatures that wanted to harm her is too extreme. I don’t know if someone would really be like that and these parts in the book were sometimes too drawn-out and I was glad when it was over.

I wasn’t sure about the story with the clown first but at the end it was crazy and I was surprised how he improved.

All in all the idea is still pretty cool. The narrator is great. So many different voices... wow.

    Nothing less than great!

A really great story, a phantastic narrator.
All the parts are well known, but the way they are put together is refreshing, interesting, worthwhile and riveting. Can't wait to hear part 3!

Number two as good as number one

I'm still in love with the speaker and the story, even though I am still not into fantasy! This story made my days and both are definitely in the top ten of my list.

    Klasse!!
