Overall a nice listen, though not a 5 star rating. The characters annoyed me from time to time as well as some “scary” moments felt rather cringe.

Just love it. What is more to say? Excellently read and still horrifying. Read it first time when I was 12, now even more intense.

As someone who has only seen the movie i see why S.King did not like it. The Book is way better and digs itself deeper into the Madness of said hotel and all ist Influencers.. What a fantastic road to Madness this was.. Take your medicine!

Classic

First suspense/horror novel I've listened to and it was an incredible experience. Wonderfully written tragedy on being haunted by the ghosts of our ancestors. The narrator sounded well trained and not overacted, but very vivid and believable at the same time. I can highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good story with some supernatural elements!

Zur Geschichte an sich muss ja eigentlich nichts mehr gesagt werden. "The Shining" zählt nicht umsonst zu Kings besten Geschichten.
Die Umsetzung als Hörbuch ist hervorragend gelungen. Der Sprecher schafft es, eine Spannung aufzubauen, während er den unterschiedlichen Erzählern eine individuelle Stimme gibt.
