Number-one New York Times Best Seller

From legendary storyteller Stephen King, whose “restless imagination is a power that cannot be contained” (The New York Times Book Review), comes a thrilling new novel about a good guy in a bad job.

Billy Summers is a man in a room with a gun. He’s a killer for hire and the best in the business. But he’ll do the job only if the target is a truly bad guy. And now Billy wants out. But first there is one last hit. Billy is among the best snipers in the world, a decorated Iraq war vet, a Houdini when it comes to vanishing after the job is done. So what could possibly go wrong?

    How about everything.

This spectacular pause-resisting novel is part war story, part love letter to small-town America and the people who live there, and it features one of the most compelling and surprising duos in King fiction, who set out to avenge the crimes of an extraordinarily evil man. It’s about love, luck, fate, and a complex hero with one last shot at redemption.

You won’t hit pause, and you won’t forget Billy.

    Another masterpiece

Stephen King at his best. A great novel which weaves together the lives of a hitman becoming a writer, a young girl escaping near death and a story so intricate, that you won’t be able to put it down.

    The best voice ever!

King is now "woke". Reader makes annoying breaks.

Boring dragged out plot. Not much happening except Trump and Republican bashing on every other page.
The reader cannot get together one coherent sentence without making unnatural breaks between words where there shouldn't be any. Also, he almost whispers, which is annoying.
I won't be paying for any of King's works in the future and advise to avoid the reader.

    Good story, really good narrator

I nearly didn't listen to it, because people were saying the narrator was bad. That is not true. This is one of the best narrators i have ever listened to. He is not a bland narrator but a true performer full of character and melancholy. Just like the story.

As for the story it self: It's good and expertly written. It's about Billy, who is lost and you will wish for him to be found.

He has a way with words!

No horrorstory and not particulary thriling but gripping nontheless. He knows how to write. Loved it.

    Not your typical King

I loved every minute of this exciting story and went through it quickly. It plays with the element of writing within a suspenseful crime novel and doesn‘t have rely on the supernatural to make it work. The mix of what is real and what is being told as “the book” and Billy’s story take shape das an interesting layer that keeps you wanting more of both. The characters develop as the story progresses and you find yourself in their corner entirely, which is interesting given Billy’s profession. An absolute must for King fans, who will at least get a few references in the mountains of Colorado from other books, and those who aren’t his readers…yet.
