In Misery sind es keine übernatürlichen Kräfte, sondern eine glaubwürdig geschriebene gestörte Frau, vor der man sich fürchten muss. King hat zwei Hauptfiguren ins Leben gerufen, deren Ringen um Kontrolle von Anfang an beunruhigend und gefährlich ist. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Horrorgeschichten, konnte ich mir bei dieser vorstellen, was die Antagonistin antreibt, wie sie fühlt und wie sie wurde, was sie ist. Und trotzdem bleibt sie letztendlich unberechenbar. Ein großartiges Buch! (Und mich amüsiert die Vorstellung, dass Stephen King Albträume von aufdringlichen Fans hat)

Lindsay Crouse lässt diese klassische Geschichte aufleben. Es hat mir große Freude gemacht, ihr dabei zuzuhören, wie alles immer schlimmer wird. Ich kenne das Buch schon seit Ewigkeiten, durfte es aber hier neu entdecken. Vielen Dank!

She makes the book extreme dull and flat and the sound effects are so random and ridiculous, that I had to stop reading.

The narrator ruined this fantastic story.
