Über diesen Titel

Brought to you by Penguin.

A deeply moving and insightful collection of personal essays from #1 bestselling author John Green, adapted from his critically acclaimed podcast.

The Anthropocene is the current geological age, in which human activity has profoundly shaped the planet and its biodiversity. In this remarkable symphony of essays adapted and expanded from his groundbreaking podcast, John Green reviews different facets of the human-centered planet - from the QWERTY keyboard and Staphylococcus aureus to the Taco Bell breakfast menu - on a five-star scale.

Complex and rich with detail, the Anthropocene's reviews have been praised as 'observations that double as exercises in memoiristic empathy.' John Green's gift for storytelling shines throughout this artfully curated collection that includes both beloved essays and all-new pieces exclusive to the book.

John Green should not be called a philosopher but he is definitely a deep thinker with a great talent to express his thoughts in a beautiful and meaninungful way that makes it very easy to relate to. Some reviews are funny, some are basal, some are depressed, some are joyful. They are all deeply humane and John Green reads them beautifully!

Beautifully expressed thoughts

I was already a fan of John Green from his crash course YouTube videos but this gave me so much more insight into him as a person, a writer and an appreciator of life. He has collected so many funny, interesting and sometimes terribly sad stories and tells them all with his trademark wry humour, treating every single subject with deepest respect and conscientiousness. Highly recommended, especially for INFP listeners as you will find much to relate to (and cry over).

Affecting, interesting and in places, devastating
