Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few. Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop students with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes. Five of this year's freshmen are extra special. They have a secret aside from their abilities - one that they must guard from even their classmates.

For every one person in the world with abilities they can control, there are three who lack such skill. These lesser super beings - Powereds, as they are called - have always been treated as burdens and second-class citizens. Though there has been ample research in the area, no one has ever succeeded in turning a Powered into a regular human, let alone a Super.

Die Story ist wie von Drew Hayes gewohnt gut geschrieben. Die Charaktere entwickeln sich und sind nicht pur eindimensional. Anders als bei den meisten anderen Büchern des Autors handelt es sich hierbei wenigee um eine Aneinanderreihung kurzweiliger Kurzgeschichten mit rotem Faden, sondern um eine "epische", zusammenhängende Story.

Der Sprecher ist nicht herausragend, aber bei weitem nicht so schlimm wie in der vorherigen review beschrieben. Stimmen und Emotionen sind wiedererkennbar und man wird mitgerissen.

I love the author and superhero stories, but for some reason this book was not gripping me like all the other Titels from him. Probably I get to old for High school stories or it’s the fact that for nearly all the book there is no clear goal the story goes towards, but following the live of awkward superhero teenagers. Still not bad and a good cliffhanger

I bought this audio book as an addition to the Amazon eBook so I could listen to the story in the car while commuting.
The narrator though is so bad, I could not listen to him more than five minutes. It's like Audible took somebody random from the street and told him to read the book.
While I would definitely recommend the book, I can't say as much for the Audio book.

A solid young Fantasy story with likabel mostly intriesting Characters. (5 main Characters only one lacks some death but he atleast has his moments of adorableness) If you like the premises you wound be disappointed. But Hell 25 hours with of entertainment feel like a steal. A grade time for little money. Totally worth it
