The final year at Lander has finally arrived for the Melbrook students and their peers, and with it comes a whole new set of challenges. What a great listen. I am happy it was so long. Got to know it all. Really good flow of the story, good communication b/w characters and fascinating plot lines.

No spoilers, but I just want to say it lacks the sort of epic finale you'd expect from a long running series about super heros. Some plot threads remain unresolved, others are just said to be resolved in the future. That's kind of disappointing, considering Drew Hayes said there is no sequel planned.

spannend, witzig, aufregende Charaktere und Handlungen. Ich habe mir zwischendurch ein bisschen mehr Romantik gewünscht, kenne es aber vom Autor nicht wirklich anders, von daher war es ok. Die Story an sich war wieder fantastisch! volle Empfehlung!

First of all, I must confess that I am not really a fantasy fan at all and this was my first audiobook of this kind.
All the more I am now thrilled by the great story and decided to listen to all four (unabridged) books.

Since I am not a native speaker, it was for me a successful and very entertaining excursion into the, in part, very elevated English language.

The story is witty, intelligent and entertaining at the same time.
The characters of the individual personalities are well drawn out, so that you get a connection to the players in the very first book.

It is also an asset from a psychological point of view and it gets better from book to book.
Values, courage, cohesion, standing up for each other, justice, positioning, partnership and even the villains have their place.

The connections become more and more complex. It gets more and more exciting and the gradual resolution makes it a really compelling story.
I also liked that you are never abruptly pulled out of your thoughts and feelings, but have time to build empathy and connection to the particular person and scene.

A big compliment to the Narrator! The story with all its multifaceted personalities and all the different moods and settings is conveyed so wonderfully that you are immediately captivated by the story.

If there was a fifth book, I would come back!
