Some people are born boring. Some live boring. Some even die boring. Fred managed to do all three, and when he woke up as a vampire, he did so as a boring one.

Timid, socially awkward, and plagued by self-esteem issues, Fred has never been the adventurous sort. One fateful night - different from the night he died, which was more inconvenient than fateful - Fred reconnects with an old friend at his high school reunion. This rekindled relationship sets off a chain of events thrusting him right into the chaos of the parahuman world: a world with chipper zombies, truck driver wereponies, maniacal necromancers, ancient dragons, and now one undead accountant trying his best to "survive". Because even after it's over, life can still be a downright bloody mess.

I liked the story and especially the concept behind it! It was sometimes a bit slow (as in you already now what was coming but had to wait for the characters to “figure it out”). One thing that should be improved is to rewrite the beginnings of the short stories so that they more easily overlap, for some there was a small recap of the previous story which doesn’t make sense for a connected book.

Kurzweilig, witzig, unprätentiös und sehr unterhaltsam.
Fred wurde unerwartet zum Vampir. Schritt für Schritt kommt er in der Welt des Paranormalen an, schließt Freundschaften und kommt in sehr brenzlige Situation. Ich hol mir gleich den nächsten Teil.
Eine klare Empfehlung, für wer gute Unterhaltung sucht.

The titel was intriguing and actually, totally wrong. The tales of Fred - The vampire accountant are in fact wondrous, fantastical and very entertaining! I love the characters. So many times I was bamboozled by the twists and turns, the reveals and the overall funny story. I can definitely recommend this audio book! :)

I love the "Fred the vampire" stories!

If you like fantasy stories, but are fed up with gore and war, this is the book.

Its fun to read/hear, you can have a little giggle here and there, and the characters are very likeable. Im on my third Fred the Vampire story :-)

The narrator Kirby Heyborne does a great job! I hope they keep him reading the other stories...

Didn't even know that a thing such as "cozy urban fantasy" exists, but this just feels like it.

It surely has all the ingredients.

Could even be a script to a cartoon series at times, especially the dramatized version of it.

Utterly enjoyed every second of it and am devouring the next books.
