War von anfang bis ende gut und ist einer dieser Bücher die ich am liebsten nochmal zum ersten mal höhren würde, kann nicht auf den nächsten teil warten

I enjoyed this book more that I would have thought I would. It’s hard to pin down the reason for this, besides the great work of the VA.
Perhaps it’s the good pacing of the story, the bad puns between father and son, the humanity of a OP vampire monster MC or the really nice world the story takes place in.
Stats and levels are handled quite good too, the story could even work without them.

Ein super Horbach wie ich vom Autor erwartet habe. Schon in Kapitel 1 habe ich mich vor Lachen gekringelt. Ich lann es nur jedem empfehlen. Die Geschichte ist gut erzählt und die Charaktere Abwechslungreich.

This is a fun treat for when you just need something light between the big 5+ books buffets.
It comes with a big risk of stupid grinning face, so it is up to you if you wanna listen while in public ;)
All inall it was good fun and a nice sweet light expirence coming from longer more serious series.
Also Travis is just gold for this kind of story.

I listened to this during a trip on my vacation while I was driving and it was so much fun that I didn't really want to get out of my car when I arrived.

Travis Baldree is an easy 10/10, which already puts this onto a great start.
The Worldbuilding is great and I can't wait to get to know more about the World and how it functions.
As for the story itself, I think it has a lot of great humor in it and the characters are very good and definitely something I want to hear more of as well.

My only gripe with it is, that some parts of the story work just a bit too smoothly for the main character. He never seems to be surprised or caught off guard by anything, which is fine for comedy. I just hope it wont make the story bland as the books continue.

Fun, short lived Series

If your occupation requires you to stare at unchanging screens the entire night, this audiobook will be a delight. I was not looking for the pinnacle of literature but for a light listen to keep me up.
Fortunately, the protagonist is not a mindless drone or an insane teenager either. The author created a host of believable characters, a familiar but interesting world, as well as a coherent plot line. Sure, our protagonist is not fighting crippling depression or constantly on the verge of death as seems to be the modern standard of "conflict". Nonetheless, beneath the seemingly calm surface conflict swarms.
The only thing I disliked was the way the characters discussed the magic system. It seemed a little overcomplicated and at times overwhelming. Of course, it only minimally impacted the experience, because I soon learned to ignore the jargon.

All in all, I'd recommend this to everyone looking for a light listen.
