Don’t read/listen to this series
It is a very promising idea but executed in such a bad way that it’s a real shame. The plot has huuuge gaping holes in it. And I hate stupid protagonists (especially stupid, chauvinistic, bipolar russians). Wow what an unrealistic personality. One side a good guy trying to do the right thing. The other side a self-righteous, mass-murdering bastard without a conscience.
Sure, I am sentencing a whore to death as a judge and feel I have to make a case against a jaywalker due to my subconscious requiring me, but I am the good guy who is sacrificing himself for the greater good. Wow. Sorry. That was s huge miss.
I am not sure, if the Shaman series came after, but I hope as it is a big step in the right direction but the way is still long to get over the idiotic preconceptions of the author of how self-centered all people (who deserve to live) act.
Get a grip on reality, you could be great.

Chauvinistic and incongruent
The story has a good basic idea, and it was free. That's it.
The author's idea of life seems to be that of a pubescent teenager. The way women are described I'm almost certain this guy has not stayed in relationships long, if he's ever had one. Women are described as stupid, emotional and irrational almost every time one shows up.
The story is full of deus ex machina moments and convenient chance encounters. The protagonist is the center of the universe, everything revolvers around him.
The narration isn't especially good to begin with and you can hear multiple places where they cut something in mid-sentence.
