Moah, das war ein Ritt, das sag ich euch.
Zwischendrin war ich kurz davor das Buch abzubrechen, hab dann weitergemacht, wollte es wieder abbrechen und hab dann weitergemacht und war am Ende so „Mh ... ok.“

Pierce Brown hat wieder so viel Plot in diesen Band geballert, dass es mir fast das Hirn rausgeschossen hat und zwischendrin habe ich mich gefühlt, als würde ich einen „Attack on Titan“ Roman lesen. Wozu braucht man ein Cast, außer, um es zu töten?
Ich war einfach nur noch wütend und frustriert.

Tatsächlich fand ich den Anfang von Buch drei diesmal recht intergalaktisch toll. Leidende Protagonisten sind schon was Feines, ne?
Danach ist mir Darrow aber ziemlich auf die Nerven gegangen. Es war, als hätte er in den letzten 12 Monaten nach Buch zwei halt voll die Erleuchtung gefunden und naja, das riskante, äußerst dumme und kopflose Verhalten dann einfach einem anderen Charakter zu geben, hat mir einfach nicht gefallen und war ... unkreativ?
War einfach nicht so meins.

Und denkt von mir, was ihr wollt, aber ich hab „The Jackal“ irgendwie echt liebgewonnen. Einfach ein toller Antagonist, der mich aus der Hose gecreept hat.

Das Ende nach dem großen Kampf hat mir so semi gefallen und die Story und um Mustang und Darrow ... naaaaaja.
Aber ganz viel Liebe für Victra und Sevro!

Und ja, ich mecker viel und war viel sauer ... aber es hat mir dennoch gefallen. ûu

I loved the first volume in this trilogy, thought the second volume was even better, and am amazed that the third volume is still better.

This book should come with a warning, because it will play on all your emotions. I laughed, I cried, and at some point I was not only crestfallen, but really angry with Darrow, the main protagonist. Then I was angry with the author. I stopped listening there and then, so mad was I. Well, I 'had' to know how it all ends, so I picked up my mp3 player again after I had calmed down a little.

This is the most amazing scifi-trilogy I've ever listened to. The performance was magnificent again, Tim Gerard Reynolds delivered the story exactly like it should be delivered.

If you haven't yet listened to this book, go on -- but I warn you: you'll be on an emotional roller coaster with no way out. I would recommend listening to the first two volumes first, though, as vol 1 sets the scene, and vol 2 develops the characters, and it all comes together in this final volume.
I for one look forward to future books by the author.

Hier kommt alles zusammen, was in Red Rising und Golden Son aufgebaut wurde. Es gibt so viele Twists und Turns, dass einem schwindelig wird. Die coolsten Charaktere tauchen in diesem Buch auf und das Ende fühlt sich SO verdient an.

The last quarter of this book will have your jaw on the floor!

But first, what's happening:
Darrow was captured and tortured. The worlds know he's a Red. Ares is dead. Darrow's given up on hope.
But the new head of the Sons of Ares has not!
So the Sons break Darrow free. He has to work hard to find back to himself, to be the man the Rising needs him to be. And again he has to fight his former friends, allies and the society to make Eo's dream of a world without colours come true.

From the first chapters I prefered this book to Golden Son. It has much more humor, banter, connection between the characters.
The character development in this entire series is phenomenal!
And not only Darrow evolves, I feel like everyone does.
Sevro went from insignificant to me, over being the annoying side character Darrow needed to win, to one of my top 5 side characters ever.
Darrow has been a great character to begin with, but I feel he's getting better and better. So human, with all his flaws and worries.

I have to admit the first half of this book was good, but not outstanding for me.
But the second half, especially the last quarter, completely captivated me.

I rarely cry during reading. This book is not a romance, but it was more emotional than most romantasy books I've read so far. In a good way (I hate crying and being emotional over books).
One absolute epic scene (and I don't have another word to describe it) had my whole body in goosebumps.
I cried with the characters (happy tears) and for them. I felt the loss. Hard. As if not only one of their friends died, but one of mine as well.
When you pause reading, but spend a whole weekend thinking about the book and mourning the characters, you know it's a good book.

Pierce Brown knows how to write plot twists. I promise you, you won't see them coming!
This book (the trilogy actually) is a masterpiece! It's so well written!

I highly recommend it!
Even it you don't like space, space ships or Sci-Fi novels in general (like me), make an effort, pick up these books! You won't be disappointed!

Die Red Rising Trilogie ist ein in Gänze gelungenes, mitreißendes Sci-Fi Action-Epos, das durch spannende Wenden der Handlung und kraftvolle, ausdrucksstarke Wortwahl besticht. Dabei hat auch vor allem das Können des Erzählers dafür gesorgt, dass ich beim Hören meist nach einer Weile jegliche andere Tätigkeit eingestellt habe und vollends in die Handlung gesogen wurde!

Bloody-damn marvellous! Prime narrator, too!

This trilogy really stands out, there aren't many like that. The conflicts are cleverly written and the characters are likable. It's become one of my favorites.

Although it's not perfect it is still epic.

Sevro made the day, hilarious dialogues and totally epic fights what do you want more!

Yeah some things really feel wrong throughout the book if you read/listen to it for the first time, but after the second time they make a hell of a lot more sense. So the only thing I really "hated" was the ending. Beautiful but cruel at the same time and somehow rushed.

One chapter more would have made the deal, sorry but if you plant that bomb at the very end you don't want to fucking rush it - hope we get a flashback or something like that in "iron gold"

Awesome finale

Ein richtig gutes Buch und eine richtig Gute Buchreihe.
Auch das letzte Buch der Saga lässt den Hörer nicht mehr von den Kopfhörern weichen.

After the last book build the main character up to devastatingly tear him down again, we get to see him deal with his trauma and try to maneuver his way through this war.
Compelling action and a finale fitting the scale of the series.
