Took me a while to get used to the multiple POVs but all came together very cleverly at the end.

Good but not as good as original trilogy

First off: DEFINETLY recommended! This book is still above average!
There are a few flaws though, which make it slightly worse than the last ones imo.
1.: While I love all the new characters (and most narrators), I think that Lysanders narrator is plain boring: No intonation, no pauses, no feeling. Even when great or terrible things happen, it is read in the same way as eating a sandwhich would be read. I get that that is in a way Lysanders thing, but damn it can get boring after a while.
2.: All the drama, less of the action: Dont get me wrong, there are still a few nailbiters in here. But we are also fed the traumatic (back)stories of FOUR characters now instead of one. It makes this book really dark at times, from a mood perspective (and keep in mind that this is compared to the other ones xD)
3.: The rest is small fry^^

Still an awesome series, just cant quite reach previous hights

Like the series before the book is full of fast action, detailed charaktes in a complex world.
All male charactes are spoken real good.

Sadly the female speaker (for the character Lyria) is so bad that i realy couldnt take it). Somehow she tryes to make the voice so heavy with emotion in every single moment that is read - even when nothing happens at all. It is extremely tiering and annoying!
I skipped every single of Lyrias chapers thereafter. Luckly this does not hurt the story much - still I can t beleave that a book this great is tortured liek this.

content wise this is the best one yet, but I ended up getting the book because Lysander's voice was unbearably bad. No intonation at all, just rushing through it. absolutely awful

awful performance

The first time I listened to this book, I got lost in the many voices and names and the narrative, so I can't say I enjoyed it much. But now, on relistening to the red rising series, I actually thought this book was stellar (if you pay attention). Multiple points of view give you a deeper understanding of the society and the politics are very fun to follow. I definitely recommend this book and am looking forward to how the saga continues.
