The drums of war sound in the Limitless Lands as Commander Raytak continues his quest to unite Hayden’s Knoll under the banner of the Imperium. Narbos the Grimm prepares his forces to invade, seeking new power from an ancient evil as he tries to wrest control of the zone from Raytak and his friends.

Unsure of who is friend or potential foe, Raytak must make contact with the Ikbose elves and the Goreaxe ogres. Will they join the Imperium? Will they choose their own path? Will they fight alongside his enemies?

Back in the real world, his aged body deteriorates and the medpod struggles to keep him alive even as it unlocks more of his faded memories. The AI takes a risk that will either lead him on the path to remembering his family, or wipe from his mind all trace of their existence.

Can Raytak win in the continuing fight to recover his mind and body? Or will all that he and his friends have built inside the game burn to the ground?

There is so much just right in this book and in this universe. I’ve raced through all four books in just a few weeks and I can only hope that I will live longe enough to experience something even a fraction this cool. Even though this is an amazing book one think bothers me. The number of officers in the “legion”. With a Sargent for 250 men and only one captain commanding this makes not a lot of sense. A Roman legion has a centurion for about 80 men. He had ab optio (equivalent to Sargents) so by the end of this book the legion should have atleast 10 officers (not including overall command staff) and 10 Sargents. But the fact that this is my biggest bother should tell you how amazing these books are

An epic continuation

For a game with an AI that should balance the content it sure likes to give very strong upgrades to some players with nearly no effort while ppl who have to go through pretty grueling experiences get comparably little rewards.
Also why in hell does the AI prevent the protagonist from reversing the decisions of the previous garrison leader, it doesn't make any sense since even in real life that would be possible.

The story lost it's suspension of disbelieve
