An absolute pleasure!
Since i was hearing the first one, i waited for this audiobook to come up, and i even practiced my english skills so i would not need to wait for the german version to be ready. It is a perfect mix between complexity, comedy, and depressive structures in a single kampane. I think John Pirhalla does not stand behind the first narrator in any way. He did a absolute great job and i enjoyed every second of this book just like the previos one. Very well done you insane gentleman, thank you.

Really good
Even though I was a bit worried about the new narrator, I've enjoyed this one as much as the first one. Excellent speaker!

New levels to the magical system and world

as good as the first part
Although the speaker changed, they really did a very nice job with this audiobook. I enjoyed this part as much as the first one and am looking forward to the third book.

New Narrator and still awsome
The John Pirhaller doing his best to narate like Travis. He nailed it, by copying the pronunciation and rythm of Travis.
The story is still good but at sone points a little slow and in others a little fast.
I'm really looking forward to the next book.

Broken promises...
The book is not bad! BUT after starting with "Jakes Mafical Market" I was expecting a Fantasy, Shopkeeper Story with a Deckbuilding Magic System. Problem 1: There is no Magical Market or shopkeeping done in "Jakes Magical Market2", Problem 2 the Deckbuilder gets dumped in favor of at least 2 other Magical Systems the worst offender the dreaded "Cultivation" for infinite repetitiveness and arbitrariness, Problem 3 I got suprised by the time spend on hightech world feeling like a cyberpunk story, but what really bothered me was the 0 time spend in his home where the Story started and the characters I liked all get left behind... Problem4 the SuperSaiyajinification of enemys and MC (a common Cultivation story problem...)
It's a great story but totally at odds with what the Start promises I feel the author either didn't like his initial Idea or got distracted and wrote something completely different. I was sad when Portal to Nova Roma got SuperSayajint into Randomness (Yay cultivating Monks in my Historic Roman fantasy...) but this is worse! If you like Cultivation and Superpower Fantasys this book is great, but the unique Ideas for interesting settings this author has always fall off on the way and the Story gets random. As a reader I maybe want to be suprised by plottwists but not by new genres every book maybe some rough plotting would help or communicating to the reader what to expect from the series in the first chapters of book1.
It may be interesting if Frodo aquired a machine gun, learned to fly a broom at a magical academy and solved murder mysterys with Bill Murray but maybe its better to write 3 books for 3 ideas...
Expectation management is key here, if you want to have a good time with Jake and liked the ending of book 1 you will like this book. I love the author and how he writes and read every new series they start in the future because he is very good and creative but I hope his future works stay on track more and don't fall into the exponential power escalation trap because that makes storys ridiculous and problem solving for the MC uninteresting unless the next enemy after the Moon Eater is the World Puncher and then the Galaxy Kicker...

puuuh..
at first, the new narrator is good.
but the Story.. toooo much Trashtalk, mumbling and unnecessary stuff. i dont like that repeating Story part. its just boring. and the MC feels like dumber than before. i am disappointed after waiting for this long for the 2nd book.
