Wie schon in "Fingersmith" und "Tipping the Velvet", beleuchtet Sarah Waters auch in "Affinity" einige weniger bekannte Aspekte der viktorianischen Zeit.
Wie immer bei Sarah Waters hervorragend recherchiert und höchst spannungsreich erzählt. Insgesamt ist das Buch düsterer als Fingersmith und Tipping the Velvet, aber trotzdem wunderbar unterhaltsam.

Juanita McMahon liest brillliant.
