I think everything about this book was already told in all the other reviews. What I can say after finishing this book or rather audiobook is that I can’t believe I waited so long to finally listen to this incredible story. Then this is exactly what this is story is. Amazing, incredible, brilliant, funny and so much more.

If you’re a fan of ice queens this is the book for you. And omg I already loved Lee Winter‘s humour before but after this one I love it even more. This was the story I needed right now. It totally cheered me up and I was laughing out loud at the end of the book.

And what can I say about Angela Dawe that I just adore. She is all these superlatives I mentioned above too. One of my favourite narrations by her is Breaking Character, but I have to say that this one definitely joined it on the top.

If there are really readers that haven’t read or listened to this book, don’t wait any longer to do it. I can’t wait now for the audiobook of The Akward Truth with Felicity as one of the MC‘s. She definitely was my favourite aside of Maddie and Elena. 😍

Mind that I am male. Usually I go for love stories from the perspective of a male Protagonist But the character off Maddie (or Madelaine - as I come to prefer) is so convincing and captivating, that it seems to be the most natural thing of the world that a woman falls in love with another woman. Even if the other one is a person as frightening and sometimes apalling as Ellena Bartell. The Storytelling in this novel is smooth and convincing from the beginning to the end with a plentiful of moving moments and a lot of tremendous character development - not only for the main characters but also for the supporting characters - especially Felicity, Perry and Natalii. Even minor characters like Maddie's mom or Natalii's fiancé are quite enjoyable. I liked the written book, but I LOVE the Audio Book for the charming Narration of Angela Dawe, who works out the different characters in great detail and delivers their emotions to the point.

I love the way the autor describes beauty and in combination with Angela Dawes narratation it is amazing. The characters have something inspiring, while also making you cringe at their behaviour at times. The story somehow manages to educat / lecture without sacrificinge the entertainment and enjoyment of it. Well done!

Thank you for a wonderful, funny and sensual love story.
The way A. Dawe manages to bring the characters to life with the different accents is a real pleasure to listen to.
But I'm particularly pleased that the two main characters have their flaws and are allowed to keep them. The almost 12 hours flew by and I'm on to the next one.

I enjoyed listening this book. I just felt that some parts took too long and some could've been more detailed. The end came way to quick, would've liked more story around the end and not just really short monthly skips til it's finished. The speaker did an amazing job with the different characters and accents, I really liked that!

Mal was ganz anderes. Wunderbare Geschichte, wunderbar gelesen. Schöne slow burn Romanze. Die Charaktere werden schön ausgebildet und es wird zu keiner Zeit langweilig! Top. Immer wieder Lee Winter

What a wonderful story, exceptional and just breathtaking. And the voice of Angela Dawe: it’s a revelation. If there is a price out there for the best narration of a book, Angela Dawe definitely deserves it. She did an incredible job again with this book and defined the characters so well, it was such a delight to hear this audiobook. Really amazing and will be one of my favourites for ever!

I love a good written ice queen and I love slow burn. So, this is the perfect book for anyone who does too. This book is quit long [11h 42m] but it’s not a second too long ore even boring. The lovely characters are vey well crated with a rich backstory. This Book contains themes like ice queen, age gab, workplace romance an buissnes owner.

Narration: With Angela Dawe this book found its voice actor master. She is portraying each character in a unique and suitable way. I enjoyed her craft with this book very much.

I've heard this audiobook a couple of times, and can only recommend it to everybody who wants to forget the craziness of this world for a couple of hours an dive into the world of these two characters and their beautiful created love story.

👉🏻 Oh my god, the last chapters were just marvellous. Lee Winter has done it again. This book is like “Devil wears Prada”, but GAY.

💡 The story is about American media mogul Elena Bartell and young Australian writer Maddie Grey. They couldn’t be more different: One is cold and unpredictable, the other is open and warm-hearted. Maddie’s life is turned upside down when the influential Elena Bartell announces that “Bartell Corp” wants to buy the newspaper Maddie writes for. The dynamic of the two is indescribable, especially in the last chapters. Both main characters - especially Elena touched me so much. Kudos to Lee Winter, who, as in “Breaking Character”, has created a beautiful romance in the form of a “slow-burn”.

♥️ This book, as well as “Breaking Character” by Winter, is absolutely RECOMMENDED! If you like slow-burn, work-romances and ice-queen stories, read these two books. “The Brutal Truth” definitely became one of my favourite books. Thanks to Lee Winter for the story and the beautiful ending.
