The beginning was somewhat slow, but as it got going I got really into the intricate world building and the story.

CL Polk’s worldbuilding is always fantastic and the themes in her writing always resonate with me. I also love her characters for how they’re often just the right kind of different from popular types, and Miles and Tristan are no exception. The romance is beautiful and doesn’t overwhelm the story.

The narration could have had a bit more nuance for my taste, but all in all is well done.

Etwas schwer reinzukommen, aber dann fesselnd bis zum Schluss! Immer wieder unerwartete Wendungen. Eine homosexuelle Liebe, aber ohne Sexszenen. Der Anfang ist etwas holprig, bis man sich in die Welt einfindet.
