... auf jedenfall lesenswert bzw.. auch als Hörbuch sehr gut vertont :) Die Geschichte kommt mit wenig "spice" aus, was mir hier tatsächlich sehr gut gefallen hat, Für mich persönlich war die Geschichte an manchen Ecken etwas zu lang gezogen. 100 Seiten weniger hätten es auch getan, aber das ist ganz subjektiv :)

loved the storytelling and narration, wonderful characters. this book I found much lighter than the clockwork boys, which didn't catch me enough to continue the series with the second book. with this one I'm hoping there will be more !

What an entertaining & sometimes funny story ! And the narrator was a-ma-zing; she did such a fantastic job. I can definitely recommend this book.

Ich hab zugegebenermaßen etwas gebraucht, mich an die Sprecherin und ihre vielen Pausen zu gewöhnen, aber die Geschichte hat mich so mitgerissen, dass es das wert war. Wir brauchen mehr solche Romanzen, die einen beschützenden Helden haben, der aber nicht besitzergreifend ist!

The story is interesting, humorous. Maybe a bit predictable if you read/heard some other works of T. Kingfisher, but I still enjoyed it. And not about young people, which I surprisingly liked.

Fun world

This book falls well into the paladin series by T. kingfisher. It does not connect to the paladins story directly, but the style is the same and it plays in the same world with occasional visits from old friends ;)

I enjoyed the love story and the action. It was nice to get to „see“ another part of Kingfishers world. This book is complete in itself and I doubt we will hear more from the main characters, I missed a bit in the end a solution to some problems, so it leaves you a bit wondering if everything will be truly ok.

I gave the story four stars because it’s a nice and well written story but it’s not like the best book you will ever read/listen to.
