Loved the performance of the narrator! This was the funniest, cutest, and most magical story I’ve read so far. Every single character felt so real in the most absurd and delightful way. Their relationships, motives, and actions were believable and endearing, and I adored how their personalities shone through in every interaction.

The 3rd person narration with multiple POVs is absolutely my jam, and T. Kingfisher nails it. I found myself constantly oscillating between laughing out loud, sighing over the yearning, and gasping at the frequent, sudden mini conflicts that kept the story moving at a perfect pace. The blend of humor, heart, and magic made this book a perfect little (conceited) romance in a fantasy world.

Ich höre mir gern Hörbücher in Englisch an um meine eigene Sprachkenntnisse stetig zu verbessern. Alles zu verstehen und sogar lachen zu können, weil man es verstanden hat, ist toll. Super Sprecherin und tolle Umsetzung der Stimmen!

The premise and the romance in Swordheart are something new, and I loved the FMC, Halla. She is so funny and witty. We also had some characters overlap from the Saint of Steel books since Swordheart is set in the same world.

I wasn‘t as drawn into the story as quickly as with the Saint of Steel series and also wasn‘t as invested in the romance. But I still enjoyed it quite a lot, and there was a point around 90% into the story where I had to stop reading the book for some time because I couldn‘t take the tension of one plot twist. As with other T. Kingfisher books, I loved the humour, the writing style in general, and the minor characters that stand out and make the story feel alive.

The story was fun, but I really want to shout out the narrator! She really elevated the material and did a great job.

The beginning was a bit off for me personally since it started really grim and depressing, added by the - what seemed to be at first - rather insecure protagonist that gave up on everything.
But everything changed quickly the moment the other protagonist joined the story. At the point where they started their journey I was completely hooked and enthralled by the female protagonist's charms and wits!

And as I said, Jesse Vilinsky did a phenomenal job! I'm getting mentally disgusted thinking about the voice of that.. cousin.. in a good way of course!
