Bryony and her sisters have come down in the world. Their merchant father died trying to reclaim his fortune and left them to eke out a living in a village far from their home in the city. But when Bryony is caught in a snowstorm and takes refuge in an abandoned manor, she stumbles into a house full of dark enchantments. Is the Beast that lives there her captor or a fellow prisoner? A very interesting and funny twist on the old fairytale. Beaty didn't seemed to have fared quite as well as we where meant to believe, but luckily Bryony is a lot more grounded.

But in a new twist. I love Kingfishers tone and humor… both suit the story so well. Very entertaining.

This was such a quick and fun read! Fast paced and I enjoyed the banter. I had to get used to the narrator's male voice, but that didn't take too long.
