The start of a great series

From the moment i stumbled upon this series i was absolutly hooked. The narrator is amazing, the story and the characters lovable, relatable and not so overdone it becomes cringy. It has humor, drama and action. Truly a series for both young and old. Be you a total newcomer to the genre or an old veteran of wuxia/xanxia this series is for YOU. Im on my third rerun of the whole series and im still not bored. 11/10

A western spin on the chinese cultivation genre.

If you want the tropes of sects, clans and magic harnessed through meditation and martial arts without the cultureclash. Setting up for a greater narrative, this book felt somewhat sluggish at times. It's still fun to listen to thanks to the dry wit, grounded characters and fine preformance by mr Baldree.

Should you have trouble with the excotic parts of the vocabulary, I advise you to read the glossary of terms on Wuxiaworld. It helped me greatly.

Great narration for a promising story

I’m looking forward to seeing where this story goes. The narration was stellar, but the book itself lost me at many places.
I felt confused often and felt like things were happening just to drive the plot.
A decent fun read tho!

lost me towards the end

general story is interesting and the beginning was promising, but towards the end it lost me. The protagonist just jumps from event to event everything works out magically, he beats opponents 10x his power level, etc.
