Über diesen Titel
Zorian Kazinski has all the time in the world to get stronger, and he plans on taking full advantage of it.
A teenage mage of humble birth and slightly above-average skill, Zorian is attending his third year of education at Cyoria's magical academy. A driven and quiet young man, he is consumed by a desire to ensure his own future and free himself of the influence of his family, resenting the Kazinskis for favoring his brothers over him. Consequently, Zorian has no time for pointless distractions, much less other people's problems.
As it happens, though, time is something he is about to get plenty of.
On the eve of Cyoria's annual summer festival, Zorian is murdered, then abruptly brought back to the beginning of the month, just before he was about to take the train to school. Finding himself trapped in a time loop with no clear end or exit, he will have to look both within and without to unravel the mystery set before him. He does have to unravel it, too, because the loop clearly wasn’t made for his sake, and in a world of magic even a time traveler isn't safe from those who wish him ill.
Fortunately for Zorian, repetition is the mother of learning….
©2021 Domagoj Kurmaic (P)2021 Podium AudioIt's one of my all-time-favourites for world building, interestingly fleshed out characters, a fantastic plot that builds upon itself and all the details that are constantly added with every chapter without ever feeling klunky or out of place, filling an original world with live without the reader ever noticing any inconsistencies. The progression feels natural.
Can't wait to hear the next Arc spoken by you.
For any potential listeners: Don't wait. Just listen in and be charmed by an introverted boy, slowly opening up to the world around him as he finds his way around school live, teenager Problems, magical phenomena, a looming catastrophy constantly holding him on edge and, as promised by the title, his ever growing willingness to learn new and fascinating magic as well as social and other skills to grow up to the challenges his more then special circumstances have in store for him.
Thank you, Mr. Kurmaic, for sharing this story with us.
Beautiful Story

I thought this was another Harry Potter electric boogaloo

The story is a fantasy story (not LitRPG) and narrated form the single perspective of the main character in 3rd person POV. Hence, it's free of annoying cliff hangers and we get to learn about the world at same time as the main character. Speaking of the world, it's a fantasy world were magic is real and more modern technologies like trains and guns have been invented only recently. The magic system is well developed and interesting. The main character (15) is a student attending his third year at a rather prestigious mage academy located in a rather rich city. He now enjoys the independence away from his family which is middle class, but rich enough to afford the academy. As for the plot, I don't want to spoil any plot details, suffice to say the main character is pulled into a conspiracy of sorts by the end of chapter 4. What really makes Mother of Learning stand out is that all its characters are developed extremely well and we get to know each one more and more as the story progresses. Although relationships evolve and play a huge role, it's largely free of romance (similar to Harry Potter). What's notable is that each character, be it the main character's little sister (9), his class mates, his famous elder brother and his mentors, have hidden depths to them that are only revealed over time. Also, the main character undergoes a lot of character growth unrelated to him becoming more powerful. This aspect makes Mother of Learning stand apart from other progression fantasy titles. In summary I can only highly recommend this story.
The narrator, Jack Voraces, does a great job with the voices. I especially enjoy his voice for Zach (a class mate) which is just spot-on with that character's personality.
A masterpiece

I was suprised it was a time loop novel.
I normally hate those alot. Because most are done so badly... and unimagenabley generic.
But this is doing quite good.
It's funny. The world is full of information. The characters are memorable and all have spunk in them. And the female cast isn't just eyecandy for harem stuff.
Our MC isn't the kind of guy that would do "crazy" stuff in the loops. So it's not even wishfullfillment stuff ... which gets boring quite fast. He learns and fights, while the story evolves.

The voice actor is doing a god damm job too. Just perfect voices for everyone.

As for the story.
Everything matters.
I only gave it 4 Stars, even if i like the story. There's either some plot holes in there OR the author might have forgotten or changed parts. Not to be used later on. And the whole Zac buisness is weird, i won't spoil it. But you will see what i mean, when you get to 3/4th of the book. It just doesnt make sense. At all. Given the enemys actions.
Here's a few open points or bad plot devices:
1. The bridge girl and sad cat. << Not answered that string of events.
2. Message of the Matriach and the point of the map.
3. Why said message couldn't be given normally.
4. Kayle. He's just outright weird at times.
5. Zac in general and the plan at the end of the book.
I will still get the second one. As i enjoyed this alot.
Time Loop done right.
