Probably one of the most beautiful audio books I’ve ever listened to. The story, the way it’s read… incredible.

while all fantasy books seem to get repetitive nowadays, with the same plots and characters, the ten thousand doors of january was surprisingly new. it has its lengths, especially in the first half, but is still a wonderful book to accompany xou in your daily chores. the narrator is my absolute favourite by far!

This is a beautiful reflection on stories, what they conceal or reveal about our world, escapism and self-discovery. But also an amazing adventure created by a powerful imagination with commentary on race, gender, class and colonialism.
The narrator does a magnificent job of giving each character a distinct voice. The kind of book you can't wait to get back to and that you wish would never end.

Everything about this nivel and the audio book narration is absolute perfection. There is nothing more to say.

I loved Starling House and needed more by the author! This is more YA but evenly beautiful.

A book about books, a book about a girl loving adventure books, dreaming to be able to travel herself in future. About the "in between" and the stupid rules men have invented to keep things normal, divide humans by color and god forbid they do what they dream about. Just "be a good girl January".

Every tale has some part of a truth and we should go on looking for the mysterious.

I started on the german audiobook but quickly realized that I needed the real thing. The english narrator is very skilled and I admire the authors writing in pictures that make your skin go goosebumpsy.

Simply loved it! Words like cruel artpieces!

Besides the interesting and magical plot, the narrator is just amazing! While listening I could see all the characters and places so vividly!

That's a VYA novel, that is, a Very Young Adult novel. The characters lack any kind of authenticity and the plot feels rather autogenerated.
The voice actor is great, though.
