ich fand die Geschichte zweier Frauen im 2. Weltkrieg sehr mitreißend und auch traurig. auch wenn es eine fiktive Geschichte ist bekommt man einen Einblick was damals schreckliches passiert ist

Berührend erzählte Geschichte über das Schicksal zweier Schwestern, die einerseits sehr verschieden sind, eich andererseits doch mehr ähneln, als sie zugeben wollen. Besonders gefallen hat mir, dass Viannes Geschichte eine selten beleuchtete Seite des Kriegs darstellt. Obwohl ich zu Anfang ihre Motivation als schlechte Begründung für schweigende Zustimmung hielt, habe ich sie im Laufe der Geschichte immer besser nachvollziehen können. Viannes langsame Veränderung kam so auch als positive Überraschung.
Meine einzige Kritik an der Sprecherin ist, dass sie die französischen Namen zu Englisch ausspricht.

Although I had decided a long time ago that I wouldn't burden myself with WW2 stories anymore, I gave this book a chance. And I am glad I did. But we warned: It will break your heart in so many ways.
Soon all of the war time memories will be lost and so few women in my surroundings talked about their experiences during the war. So it's a good thing that someone captured some of those terrifying memories for generations to come.
My only problem was with the speaker. She switched between a strong American accent and a fake French accent which felt very unpleasant but even worse was that I sometimes had the feeling that Apple's Siri was reading this story to me. Not really what I am looking for in an audio book.

It was a fantastic audiobook, both on terms of storyline and recording. I can highly recommend it! wonderfully written, sad and encouraging equally.

I didn't love the ending, but it kept the story interesting from beginning to end with a lot of unexpected turns.

I couldn't stop listening and cried various times. a very gripping story about the women and children during war, that are otherwise usually forgotten. and about love. very well narrated. I loved the different voices used.
