The storyline is great. There are twists and unexpected turns of events. The integrated lovestory is not overpowering the rest of the story. I enjoyed it. Big complement to the narrator

I really loved the authors take on vampires it was refreshing and not to cliché. The characters were interesting and intriguing and the world was brutal and bloody though it still had the power to draw you in. I couldn’t stop listening and even lay awake listening until 5am one day because of the constant suspense. The central relationship was masterfully done, perfect enemies to lovers banter. The last three hours were filled with so many emotional OMG moments that I was constantly gasping. The berater did an amazing job I absolutely loved her voice.
Would absolutely recommend !!!

To be honest, I couldn't quite decide at first if I liked the book or not. The female main character undergoes sort of a reversed character development, starting at her ruthless vampire side and always living in fear and not trusting anyone, but then embracing her human side which is more about allowing herself to feel compassion and love. That might be the case why I couldn't stand her for the first 5 hours of the audiobook. Also, the language contains a lot of swearing, which mirrors the harsh world they live in, but got a bit too much for me sometimes.
The end, however, puts forward with some very unexpected twists.

Absolutely enthralling! Downloading book 2 asap with that ending I need to know what’ll happen next asap! The only thing I really disliked was the overuse of the word ‘fuck/fucking’ not because it’s a curse word but because it stood out so much to me at some point that I noticed it being used a bit too often.

Ich bin zwiegespalten. Die Welt und die Charaktere konnten mich nicht mitreißen, aber langweilig war es nicht. Schon lange nicht mehr wurde ich so oft überrascht, was als nächstes passiert. Zumindest für mich waren die Wendungen (und davon gab es mehrere) unverhersehbar. Das ist ein riesen Pluspunkt.
Es hat was von "The Hunger Games". Wer diese Story mochte und gerne Storys mit Vampiren und Starcrossed Lovers liest, sollte hier nicht zögern.

Es passt einfach alles. Die Story ist spannend, die Charaktere sind toll und entgegen meiner Befürchtung (ich bin etwas vorgeschädigt) gab es keine dumme, naive Protagonistin und auch keine toxische on-off Beziehung. Auch der 2. Teil ist mega!

I found the story itself not original enough as it felt like human versus Vampires in the Hunger Games BUT I found myself not being able to put the book down. Very well written, great character and world development. A love story that makes you long for more! I’m a big fan of the author as her writing style is impeccable! Every book a page turner, just as this one - can only recommend!

There is a reason why this story is now a staple for Romantasy readers! It’s really good and sets the bar really high for all other books! Maybe a duet naration or even a graphic audio would boost this book even higher! 🤩❤️❤️
