East slips on a growly Scottish accent for Aurora’s wolf compatriot, as well as all the other personalities populating the king’s keep. The pair’s many conversations are seamless in the duet narration. As Aurora and her wolf await King James’s ruling on their pact, Hampton–Brown and East build the political stakes and the undeniable passion between the two, making their love story a wild ride."

I have to say, the narrators really elevated the experience. It might have been better than the book itself.
The story itself isn't anything groundbreaking: a princess trying to escape a cruel fate, a possessive wolf shifter in a kilt with a Scottish accent (seriously, Shane East's narration? Chef's kiss!), and a mysterious, devious wolf with unclear motives. It's a familiar setup, but it’s still a fun ride.
While Mrs. Palphreyman didn’t reinvent the wheel, this book is ridiculously bingeable. I found myself hooked, and I’m definitely looking forward to continuing the series.

Our heroine Aurora is a princess engaged to a man that holds brutal wolf fights in his castle. Callum is forced to fight there and later, when he escapes he takes Rory captive.
I would go into this blindly, there are so many twists and turns and you don‘t want to spoil yourself.

Although I like Rory and Callum, I must confess that I was most interested in Blake. From the moment he was introduced, I just wanted to read about him. When Callum had to leave Rory for a few days to help the King, I was only interested in Blake and was a bit irritated when Callum came back because Blake is so much more interesting. When he confessed to Rory that he had Magnus and his mates strung up in his basement… oh swoon!
It reminds me of A Hunger Like No Other, Outlander, Tempt Me at Twilight, ACOTAR and The Highland Guard series.
