Am relevantesten
Mir hat das Buch sehr gut gefallen. Im hinteren Drittel habe ich dann auch die ACOTAR-Ähnlichkeit gesehen :D hier ein paar Stichpunkte
+ tolle Protagonistin, gut nachvollziehbar sowohl bei ihren Gefühlen als auch bei der Interaktion mit anderen.
+ kurzweilige Geschichte, zwar mit ein paar vorhersehbaren Aspekten, aber das hat mich nicht gestört
(-) ich hätte mir zwischen den einzelnen Prüfungen ein bisschen mehr aus ihrem Alltag oder dem Training gewünscht, aber da bin ich vielleicht einfach von SJ Maas verwöhnt
(-) der männliche Sprecher war nicht ganz meins, evtl wechsle ich für den nächsten Teil auf die deutsche Version

Unterm Strich: ich glaube das ist der Beginn einer super Reihe und ich werde mich gleich morgen auf den zweiten Band stürzen <3

The story caught me rapidly, the world building easy to understand, the character easy to remember and to understand – good to listen to while getting other stuff done. I finished it fast, always wanting to know what happens next.
BUT
The typical bully situation, the plot twist that was foreseeable, but came not that naturally, and suddenly, right before the end, the main character DOES know why the king took her as a tribute -,- The story lost me right there.
The behaviour and the thoughts of the FMC just lost their logic.
Thanks for the while, no regrets here, but I won't finish the series

Loved this!! Was immediately good and just kept getting better. Finally an FMC who isn’t stupid all book 1 haha. Highly recommend.

The story develops a little too slow for my taste, now and then it got a little boring. Nevertheless it was entertaining and I want to listen to the next book.

Great story and versatile female speaker. The male speaker seems to hard to try speaking in a sexy low tone which I don‘t like. It sounds as if he was producing saliva or at least his tone is making me produce saliva in disgust. And yet I just bought part 2 because of the gripping story.

Lor lived in a prison in the Aurora king's kingdom with her sister and brother for 12 years. Then she is kidnapped and forced to participate in the Sun Queen Trials. The winner is supposed to get bonded to the Sun King and rule his kingdom at his side as the Sun Queen.
Lor does everything she can to win so she can get her siblings out of the prison.
Not only the other tributes are making her life difficult, but also the Sun King's guard Gabriel.

The story is told from different perspectives. Lor's POV is told in first person, Nadir's POV is told in third person. It was weird for me to switch between these two at the beginning.

I liked the writing style. I also did like the female main character. I found myself wondering witch male character to root for.
The end made me curious. I want to know what happenes next.

It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but it wasn't bad either. I'm going to continue with the series.

In general I liked the female narrator, but in the first 7 chapters the female main character sais "What's going on?" at least 10 times and the narrator emphasizes this sentence so annoyingly that I thought about stopping the audiobook.
The male narrator was okay.
What else annoyed me was that the female and male narrators had very different talking speeds. Her part I listened to at 1.45x speed and his was impossible for me to understand at more than 1.2x speed. So I had to switch the speed every now and then.

The story leaves a lot of questions. The story for this book went fast. We got to the action fairly quickly eventhough we don’t get to the romance quick i didn’t mind.
The fmc is amazing. She is scrappy and doesn’t give up. But doesn’t have the super strength or special skills a lot of the other women have in these type of books. She get’s by on sheer determination and will. And i love it. You get swept up in the drama and don’t want to stop. The decription of the book is def correct. It is a little like the bachelor at moments but with deadly consecuences. It was at times like thrashy television with an edge and i loved it. Deffinitly would read again and can not wait to listen to rest of the series.

The story is a fun take on known concepts, a mix between hunger games and the Bachelor. There is more to the story, but the hints are very obvious, so there was no big plot twist. Still I think the world building is interesting enough that I am curious for part two, with hopefully more depth of the characters and some twists that are not as obvious as the one on this book.
