A seemingly perfect middle child
This book fits perfectly as the culmination of the first books premise, and the setup of the final books major plot.

not a typical 2nd part

Storyline
In this second book a lot of repetition was going on. More than needed to remember the characters from the first book. Also the storyline was quite predictable and easy to guess. A drop of teenage romance and drama, as well as an ocean of self doubt and self-sabotage from the main character was the recipe for success. If success is to sell tons of book copies.

A league of its own
Listen to it with an open mind and try not to compare it to other stories about magical worlds. You’ll be wonderfully surprised, especially by the grand finale.

Really good but annoying end
The last bit dragged out for soooo long it really took out the anticipation. Left me furious to endure their utter stupidity.

Fascinating until the end
I loved the novel! It was fascinating until the last page. The cliff hanger at the end of the novel was so intense! :D I am looking forward to the sequel!

naja
the second part is better than the first but I still found it lacking. whenever something monumental happened it was much too quick to follow and the boring sequences went on for a long long time. I like Els character quite a bit, she's a strong girl but her change from book 1 to book 2 seems unrealistic, as is the live story with o'ryan. it also seemed strange that her mum uses all she has to send her a message and she just ignores it??? I wouldn't recommend except if you really enjoyed book 1

Do not listen until the Golden Enclaves are out
THIS CLIFFHANGER! NAOMI, MY HEART!
So, I recommend you don't listen to this until the third book is out because I am just crushed.
Apart from that, great story, very well written, funny and suspenseful.
Anisha Dadia is QUEEN as a voice actor, I may be looking explicitly for books read by her.
