This is one of the best audio books I've had the pleasure to listen to. Clark's great storytelling and humor, presented by the perfect selection of voice actors... not much remains to be asked for, exept for more!

Halten Sie die Hörbuch-Ausgabe von The Collected Stories of Arthur C. Clarke für besser als das Buch?

I have read the book many years ago. I would consider myself a bibliophile, so I have to say that touching, smelling and reading a book is ALWAYS better than listen to an audio book.

But, as I also enjoy listening to good story telling, I have come to love audio books just the same. I like how words spoken enter my brain through my ears, good narrators painting worlds on the canvas of my imagination.

I love every word Arthur C. Clarke wrote over the decades. Every story is a gem, masterfully worded and, considering the time when they were written, truly prophetic.

Hätten Sie das Hörbuch am liebsten in einem Rutsch durchgehört?

Yes and no. Yes, because the stories are so well told. No, because each story deserves to be digested on its own. So I listen to a chapter, then pause to think about what I just heard.

Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?

Arthur C. Clarke tells science fiction in a way that you think it is totally possible that one day some of the things he describes become true - as have many already, when looking back.

Arthur C. Clarke stands side by side with the great Isaac Asimov. So, if you love Asimov's stories you will also enjoy Clarke's stories.

Had read Arthur C. Clarke more than 30 years ago…. Now I’m listening to his stories, and they are even better than I remember. I also enjoy the readers: good listening voices… very professional. The sound quality is also top.

Excellent SciFi

Große Hochachtung vor Clarkes Kreativität und Schreibkunst! Für mich die bisher beste Science-Fiction Kurzgeschichtensammlung. Kann ich fpr jedermann nur empfehlen!

Sehr unterhaltsam

Ralph Lister was fine and a good voice for the very first few early stories, but after those I couldn't stand him and had to skip all of his parts. Very annoying, boringly straight forward and every punctuation a wet slap in my face.

Ray Porter on the other hand is brilliant, compelling and narrative, with a wonderfully wide range. His and Listers performance unfortunately average out, and Davies' is right there already.

The stories, being short and diverse, offer interesting ideas, plot twists and a few unexpected punch lines, because in this collection are many stories and opportunitive endings. But they don't measure up today's writing dramaturgy and attractiveness.

All in all an average performance, and I won't listen to it again.

The stories are interesting, some more than others. But listening to Ralph Lister - who is reading most of the stories - is just an overall horrible experience. I never came across a more unsuited voice for audio books. There is no empathy or any modulation in his voice, every sentence sounds like the other. I can’t recommend this audiobook
