An ok-ish sci-if adventure covering a blatant attempt at the commentary on state of the world in 2022.

Very good humor, pretty straight forward. I like it a lot and can only recommend it. If you like complicated settings you might dislike it for me this is gold. The speaker does a good job in giving live to the characters.

Ray Porter is doing a marvelous job yet again!

Brilliant

Very different from Taylor's other works and not really my taste. It's not necessarily bad and the snarky parts were definitely fun but I enjoyed his more serious works far more.

It's more of a lighthearted adventure story with more action and less world building. It has its moments but overall there's just too much handwaving and goofyness for me personally. The heavy reliance on conspiracy theories and fake news to explain away all kinds of events struck me as kind of cheap and a bit derogatory towards the reader and the rest of the world really. I get the idea and that it's part of the goofy alien setting but it's such a serious topic that it struck a bit of a nerve with me. I'm looking forward to the continuations of his other book series.

As usual, Ray Porter is great to listen to. Probably my favorite performer. The occasional cuts in the recording and subsequent shifts in voice quality were a bit annoying though.

Ray Porter brings this book to live, the characters are very real and likable.
The story is well written and fun. Easy to get into and follow.
